Good morning all.
Another cold and damp one ahead.
Little to do apart from needing a shave and shower as I have to wait in for Screwfix.
I must transfer some dosh into my current account as its taken a hit this month with Mr Fixit, new lights and sockets, new curtains (WoW, they're expensive aren't they) , new carpet and the decorator......all within 4 weeks.
As they say, there's no pockets in a shroud.

Curtains (decent ones) are very pricey.

I like the way they can fix them direct to the ceiling, these days.

Just back from my first " run " since the lurgy. 5k tentatively run until the last short hill approaching home. I thought " f%$k it, let's go for it " and caned it as hard as possible to the top of the hill. 😁 . I feel so much better for it, it's certainly blown the cobwebs away.
A load of junk mail awaited when I got back, retirement homes and nursing homes abound due to the demographic of comparatively wealthy older population ( not me, I'm materially " poor " but have a life rich with family and friends ( I count some of you bunch amongst that lot )
One leaflet was for Fibre Broadband at a " bargain " price. This stopped me in my tracks when I realised that I've had " the internet " for about 40 years 😮 ( I was enrilled in the very first O.U. Technology module which involved dialling in to " JANET " at Southampton Uni to submit assignments )
@Drago " getting Jiggy was slang for getting your leg over amongst my West Indian friends 😁

I've heard our Jamaican brothers call it jigajig !
Point of order..... you say you count SOME OF us lot among your friends! I now visualise all us old farts worrying about whether they are among that "some of you lot"

Morning all . It damp in Coventry at the moment but it getting brighter by the minute. 😀.
We been out for coffee and a snack at our local cafe and it was packed , they must be doing something right.
We were going to drop out daughter in town about now and go on for a walk . But we did think that time scale was a little hopeful as her friend Pete is ALWAYS running late 😂. As is our daughter in everything other than getting to work, so they make a right pair . They were supposed to meet in Coventry city centre at 11.30am ( it’s now 11.50, Mrs exlaser and i are running a mini sweepstake about when he will get here, who ever is nearest buys the croissants tomorrow 😀.She has gone with 12.30 I think that still a little hopeful so have gone with 1.30pm . We are now on our second coffee and are going to leave our daughter to catch the bus into town when we go for a walk.

Ps latest update he’s got to Milton Keynes but missed his train now not due until 1. 20 at the earliest. 😂
To cut him some slack he lives in St Neots near Huntingdon, which would be no trouble if he could drive , a14 then m6 and he would be here in just over a hour. But he doesn’t, so has to take a bus to Bedford then another one to Milton Keynes to catch the train to Coventry, so there is a lot of things that can go wrong. 😀
TBH think I’ve gone early with his arrival time , I reckon it will be in the 2.30 to 3 pm range now 😂
