Went to Runcorn again today - my volunteering thing

couldn;t park so ended up parked in a dofferent place
and hence walked in a past a pub I don't normally see

In the window is a poster

"Drink 8 pints and get the 9th Free!!!!"

B****y H**l I thought - that's a hard core drinking pub!!!
(turns out it is a loyalty card - but that is in small writing)!

Told my wife and her first comment was
"sounds like my Dad's sort of pub - 2 free drinks a night!!!"

her Dad (who I never met) was a PROPER drinker - five foot 2 but could drink a pub dry
but strangely not alcoholic - when he got ill he couldn't get to the pub so just stopped - no withdrawing problems!

Just watching Ted's Notebook - the F1 testing

there was a section where Ted was walking along with Valteri Bottas and talking
Valteri was quite at the start
and Ted was woffling
and Valteri chipped ina few bits here and there

they discussed several things very briefly and were very informative
but Ted can be funny
and Valteri is a Finn and they are all nutters and know the value of silence

overall - it was hilarious - only a minute of two
and very informative
but both talked b****x and both were funny
all at the same time

brilliant

So your haircut takes ten minutes and costs ten squids or a quid a minute whereas SWMBO 's costs > forty quids and takes several hours, say two hours = 120 minutes or 33P a minute so is cheaper than yours!

This is the sort of logic that should remain amongst husbands. That or I can see a lot of stuff heading my way.......🤣

I'm not sure I dare mention this next bit. I pay £23 at a real Turkish barber shop. That's for haircut, beard trim and shape, eyebrows, ear flaming, nose wax and a head massage. This takes about 35 - 40 minutes. It's wonderfully relaxing, I see it as a treat, pampering. I go every 4 - 6 weeks. I don't have much hair. A £5 buzz cut would do but there's no pleasure in that.

I don't know anything about it but male grooming in this way seems very much a part of Turkish culture.

Good morning. My sleep pattern has degenerated to anything beyond 2.30am is a bonus. Bed at 9.15 yesterday as I was nackered. Slept till 2.30ish so nearly 6 hours. I'll try for a doze soon.

Today? Lots of minor stuff. Ironing, housework and then out to meet a cycling buddy for lunch. We do this, when we can't ride we meet for coffee, chat, lunch. Then I'll pop to the gym.

I've a load of u3a admin to do following yesterday's committee meeting. That may happen tonight.

Pretty crap last night too. I bought another pillow to try and it was horrible. Another £50 in the bin! I’ll just stick with my Tempur contour one I think. It’s the best of all the various ones I have tried over the years.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

My son does similar and says it's really good.
I actually went in one a while ago and asked the cost. Can't recall what it was but it was expensive.

Morning all.
I am an official member of the CNSC.... that the Crap Nights Sleep Club. I drop off easily but wake up way too early (like others on here) but i feel groggy and go back for a mid morning nap.
So...... rain all day and quite chilly.
Cleaner will be here at mid day. I will wash/dry the bedding beforehand.
