@PaulSB you mentioned that your passport only has 6 months left on it, will you be renewing it ?
Mine runs out in June and im unsure whether it's worth renewing. I can't see me going abroad again.
Phew!!!! Good evening everyone. Busy old day here. Coffee with a cycling buddy, Tesco shop, car clean (it was disgraceful) and PT session. Just got home an hour ago...........this should be the signal for G&T and chill out........

........nope. My boys are at home to Preston North End, decorum prevents the more apt description Rovers fans use, at 8.00pm. A big local derby, first home game under the new manager, three points vital for both sided for very different reasons. I probably need a G&T but have to drive........

Dave, no my passport has years to run. It's Mrs P who has less than six months and has decided not to renew.

I appreciate why, at 79, you're questioning whether or not to renew. I would as well. My decision would be to renew and keep a valid passport. Why? Even if it's just a quick trip to the EU you never know if you'll need it or not.

For the sake of £95 I wouldn't want to risk missing out.

It’s been a day of bright spells interspersed with showers here but an awful lot milder. I have opened a couple of windows.

I made a big pot of lentil soup earlier. That’s about the extent my “cooking” runs to.

Nothing much on tv tonight so I’ll watch a few more episodes of a series on Netflix called Everwood. Just a pleasant, easy watch.

Thought you would be watching the Olympics.

People, I assume you, move there for the beauty etc. It must be frustrating when the weather prevents you from enjoying what you moved there for.
May I ask, approximately which part of the lakes are you?
My 1st job in sales was selling wire screening to quarries and my territory included the lakes. I was getting paid to tour the Lake District ^_^.......a good job was that.

S.E Lakes. Not too far from Kendal.

Morning. Very mild again with a showery morning and heavier rain by afternoon.

I’ll head out soon.

Barnet,
Good morning all,
Yet another grey, damp and cool start to the day here.
The green bin lorry has just come down the road, very few garden bins are out this morning, probably due to the amount of rain over the last two weeks, no one has been able to do anything in the garden to warrant putting it out.
Our Daughter is calling in this afternoon so I will find something to cook for tea.
