Good morning from the centre of Brum. Arrived yesterday afternoon and had a great night out at a couple of Pubs, one had its own Pizza kitchen. Off out to find breakfast once MrsTkk has got back from the Gym, then a late lunch in Digbeth once daughter and her chap get back from the Campervan exhibition at the NEC

Good morning from the centre of Brum.

No wonder the poor thing looks so startled!

Good morning. Tis mild and grey. Pretty bland. Happy Paul has spent a couple of hours with coffee, the paper and some browsing. A good win last night has lifted my spirits.

Heavy duty childminding now for four days. We have #1 and #2 small people for today, sleepover and tomorrow. On Monday #2 again for the day and Tuesday #3 for the day! Perhaps I should get a little job in B&Q?? 😃

My morning so far has been to relax for a bit before throwing everything into full on granddadding. Love it but I will be utterly nackered. 🤣

Morning

looks like the weather is "not too bad" until after lunch
Should really get the bike out and go for a ride and
Oh look - the cafe boat is out today!!!

so I might just wander off and have a cuppa (and maybe a cake)
problem is that the tow paths and the path through the nature reserve will be filthyand i have just cleaned the bike in order to get it to the LBS - so I don;t want it too muddy!

so I might go a long way round on roads rather than the canal paths

maybe - it does involve a pain in the neck hill!!

Well no dancing last night as Fiancee felt ill, She stayed at her house last night so this morning I made myself a really un-healthy breakfast. Fried spam, fried egg and baked beans, 784 calories! 45g of fat!. Still enjoyed it.
We were going to go out today to recce a tea room for her to take some friends to . However she is still poorly ( cough and sore throat) so I need to pop out to take her some cough medicine.

I'm quite a fan of podcasts, some truly entertaining and informative ones out there, but a fair bit of dross too.
I have just finished listeria to the final episode of " The Walkers " from Tortoise Media. An exposé of the true story behind Sally Walker AKA Raynor Winn the author of " The Salt Path "
Quite an eye opener, Walter Mitty springs to mind.

Well - back from a ride

First time for months that I felt I didn;t need to have worn the overshoes!

it was muddy off the tarmac paths so I came back a different way - on the roads through Runcorn

Problem with that is always managing to avoid the dual carriageways as all the signs are for cars and the dual carriageways often do not have cycle paths and can be damn scary!!!

but it went OK - the cycle paths were designed by a committee of car drivers - but in the end I saw a sign for the train station and that sorted it out as the station is near the bridge

Problem was that STrava decided to not record it
and I know it was when I left because my wife can track where I am and she checks it is OK before I leave

apparently she could see where I had been for about 10 minutes
then it just said I was in the same place for ages

on my phone there is no trace of anything

weird!
