Morning. Mild again but a morning of heavy showers.

I’ve become an overnight vegan after watching these 3 documentaries yesterday.

Industrial Farming & Food Production
  • Dominion (2018): An expose of the Australian factory farming system using drones and hidden cameras to show the daily lives of livestock.
  • Earthlings (2005): A comprehensive look at humanity's dependence on animals for food, clothing, pets, entertainment, and scientific research.
  • Eating Our Way to Extinction (2021): Highlights the environmental, social, and ethical implications of industrial animal agriculture.

You watch the wrong doc's Mo ^_^ .
Sue dabbled with it......it didn't last.
Daughter and SiL did it but are now in what i call a state of flux ie they will eat chicken and some fish but not pork, beef or salmon (all for ethical reasons).

Good morning. It was wet and windy, it is now dry and windy. This means a bike ride!!!!! With this amount of wind I would normally consider binning the ride but dry is so rare this year I have to go. Unexpectedly #2 isn't coming today. Her mum isn't working at present and #2 was here all weekend as her parents went to London for a birthday treat. Her mum felt she wanted a day with her daughter, the right choice I think, so we have an unplanned free day.

I'm looking at a 50 mile route incorporating a favourite cafe, as much shelter as possible and finish ASAP 'cos it really isn't pleasant cycling weather.

Heading back to Poole from Brum about lunchtime. Met up with my sisters and they've promised to come and visit in summer. Mrs Tkk and I ventured to " The Wellington " in the city centre for quiz night, a really friendly bunch and we didn't finish last!
Must take more short breaks, we'd fallen into too much of a routine.

Right - I'm awake - been up fo half an hour or so

I think I am doing an AgeUK thing at lunchtime - at an independant living place near here

Just found out that the whole project is only funded until the end of March
This is the problem with working with a charity - they are always funding things until a certain date and the extending it JUST before the finding stops
or not
so the poor woman who is running it in this area is scrambling around getting the stats to look good hoping at least a part of it will continue

all of which rather gets in the way of any long term planning or thinking

I have also discovered that a similar thing I used to work on - via a local council - stopped being funded (i.e. closed down) late last year
and another almost identical one started up and had a BIG EVENT in the local market a few days ago
funny - that - a big event and I only found out about it because I was nosing around about the other version

telling people they exist seems to be a rather weak point in these things!!

My wife worries about this sort of thing
if I get annoyed enough I could end up deciding to just fix the damn things myself - and then end up spending far too much time on it all and worrying about it too much

Anyway - must calm down!!
