You can get goats butter.

Vegans do not believe in exploiting any sentient being.
Apparently plants are not sentient.

Do scones not have milk and butter?

They do. That's a conversation I've decided to avoid having with my friend. It wouldn't go well, we're good friends but some topics just don't work for us. This is one of the.

I guess she feels it's pragmatic and that she has to eat something. We occasionally end up in places with a vegan offering of some sort, usually a couple of cakes, but it's rarely a great choice.

A different angle. A fully vegan cafe, nice place, opened near us a few years ago. It still has a strong vegan and vegetarian offering but now serves meat based foods as well. When it was fully vegan one got a feel of how daily vegan life must be. I found it very difficult to get a cafe style meal that suited me as someone who wants more than vegan food.

Good morning good morning good morning.
I was wide awake at 03.10 and blame you @PaulSB as you were posting at that time and typed too loudly.
Isn't it nice to arise and find it's 10 degrees. Supposed to be dry so I really must get a short stroll in later.
Decorators are back today..... should be finished by noon-ish. Carpet being fitted 5 days later (give the paint chance to harden). Curtains fitted after that, i'm having them made to measure.
See you all later.

Good morning, I have some exiting news, the hedgehog has reappeared, visited the feeding station and the first thing the ungrateful sod does is take a large dump 😮 ( hedgehogs crap where they eat )
Anyway it's good to see him back, might get another camera to set up elsewhere in the garden

Barnet,
Good morning all.
Today's weather forecast is a right old mish mash. Rain, sunny intervals, drizzle and cloud.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies soon, and after a few domestics I might be able to get out on the bike for a little while.
Whilst I am out I will go via the local butcher, I do like their own made burgers, and I need a new gear cable from the bike shop a couple of doors away. I really do like to use the local shops whenever possible

Morning all :hello:

Meeting up with our mates for lunch today, before they go on their Carribean cruise on Saturday.
Weather's forecast to stay fine for the next couple of days, so I might get my ride on mower out and improve my front lawn lap times.

Morning folks :okay: off for a hilly ride this morning and will see if enforced idleness over winter has effected my fitness level,,,i have been spinning the turbo but it cant match real world cycling. I have a theory! why i loathe indoor turbo training....i do appreciate the benefits but it always seems tortuous. I think in real world cycling the hills'head winds etc dictate 'pain' levels whereas indoors you select your own which means its self inflicted and kinda barking requiring mental gymnastics to rationalise ! *

*especially when the sofa is saying " forget it! doss down and watch tv with coffee and jaffa cakes!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Right, this seriously is just conversation ....not complaining.
You all know that my wife Sue died, it's weirdly over 2 years now, and many on here gave me lots of verbal help/support.
I still find certain things, sometimes trivial things difficult to come to terms with. eg I used to go to Aldi every week and was under instruction to bring back the magazine with the next week's offers. First thing Sue did was scour the crud while I put things away.
Since she died I haven't been able to enjoy flicking through them. I've just been to Aldi and on the way out picked up a flyer, no doubt full of stuff for pets and babies  .I dont have pets and have serious doubts that I will have any babies but I will shortly have a browse of the flyer.
I'm sure your life is complete now you've read this

Well done dave.:notworthy:
