Is this cr*p weather badly affecting anyone on here ?
Just looking at next week's forecast and it's wet every day.
I am fortunate in that my gardens drains very well but even so I have had areas covered in standing water. I have seen (on the news) some horror stories.
How is everyone doing ?

Not too badly here although my rear lawn has suffered a bit. I have re seeded some of it.

We live on a hillside of solid rock with a couple of feet of soil on top. So decent enough drainage.

Everywhere is really sodden, though - almost continuous rain since the start of November, and no sign of it easing up.

We live on a hillside of solid rock with a couple of feet of soil on top. So decent enough drainage.

Everywhere is really sodden, though - almost continuous rain since the start of November, and no sign of it easing up.

Almost identical height here on the brow of a hill. Billing ASBOdrome is 2 miles away and regularly flooded by the Nene but we have almost 60m of additional elevation. I was very careful to check the flood risk before buying!

Drainage here is OK

AT the bottom of the garden there is a drop of several feet after the fence - so anything trying to flood would just drain away through the fence
then after that is a stream - known locally as "the poisoned stream" as it runs across the old chemical dumps - which is not culvetted and it abotu 20-30 foot below the normal ground level - then runs into the Mersey


so we SHOULD be OK

but the whole area is quite low lying so .......

At first I thought you wondered how we are doing but no, just our lawns. 🤣

My allotment drains well, the growing beds in particular as they've had a lot of work over the years. There's loads of work to do as basically it's been too wet since November. I badly need some dry weather.

Our garden lawn is an utter disaster. Moss has been a problem for a while. This wet mild winter has let the moss grow all winter. The lower ¾s is now 95% moss. I think we need a nuclear option.

Me? I'm very frustrated by the lack of rides!!!!

Salut. I didn't cut any wood at all due to raining conditions so took Molly for a longish walk and walked a French film on YouTube while Mrs G went shopping in Llandudno with her sister who is also staying overnight as she doesn't like driving in the dark as she lives 40 miles away.
Molly is booked for a haircut at 9.50 tomorrow morning.

or at least - onto a wooded area about 20m thick and then a "black path" and then the stream - then up a steep hill
THEN the golf course

but we can see it out of the back windows when the trees are not covered in leaves
