WOW! WOW! WOW!

I've stroked a virtual llama. Stupid. It's not real but I reached out to touch it, stroke it. 🤣

I've never done VR before. That was quite an experience. I knew I couldn't fall off the edge but I didn't believe myself. Mrs P and I were holding on to each other in places. Walking to Picadilly station it took me a good 30 minutes to tune back into the real world. Had to keep telling myself these are real people coming towards me. I couldn't have safely driven my car.

Today has been busy

Firstly right after breakfast I rode down to the LBS and left the bike to be serviced
main things to be looked at - gears, pedals, chain, front mudguard and the ebike electronics had to be run through the Bosch systems for checking


Then walked home - which takes 25-30 minutes



after that sit down and lunch followed by sorting otu teh Vorgin Media stufff

logged on OK - which is surprising

then it says my contract has run out

OK

so I need to renew it or something

no button to click on

saya i need to select what to "upgrade" - OK
still nothing to click on

everything says I ned to "contact" them - but no clues as to how

found a chat system - went through the automated bits - no optiosn to renew

eventually it gave up and said I needed to use WhatsApp -
WHAT??

anyway - gave them my number and it said it would send a test message
which never arrived
repeat

It gave up and told me to send IT a message on WhatsApp
I did

no response - still has not replied actually!!


so - I want to give them money and i have no options to do it


looked it up only and a Reddit thread suggests dialing 150 from my phone
did that and was listening to jazz fo 20 minutes before a bloke answered

He was OK tried by only got the cost down to £20 a month more than we were previously paying

he said he could pass me onto they Customer Service people

OK - but more delay

but a woman answered - with the most high pitched mid American accent - with VERY high pitched - very fast talking and calling me Mr Michael

it was hinestly difficult to even understand a lot fo what she said - so Pardon was a common thing


anyway - she offered another few quid off

but Gods she went on!
I know there are times she needed to read a legal thingy
but it was everything - 10 times the number of words needed - and in that annoying high pitched voice speaking American and not English



all sorted

but all told it took over 1 hour and 30 minutes

next time we are switching to Sky - just so I can got to the kiosk they have in Warrington and I can talk to someone!!!

Oh forgot - picked bike up and lots had been knackered

he said the gears were fine - but when I tried to ride it it would not stay in 4th

turned out 4th gear was worn out massively
he had looked at the gears and they were all fine - but the chain was on 4th and he just assumed it was OK

he said he always looks at the biggest and smallest as those are the one people use

the fact that 4th was worn prompted him to say that I must be pretty fit to ride in that gear
and he said it without laughing!!!


but that sort of wear it because it is a mid drive ebike - and 4th is where it is at the motor cut off speed!

@ebikeerwidnes when you speak of 4th gear is this a 1x and you're in the middle of the cassette? How many gears does the bike have?

Good point - 7 gears on the cassette so it is the middle one

Really unsure about his comments about being fit to ride in that gear
I think he was talking about the cadence being high for that gear at that speed
he expects "people like me" to be in the 6th or 7th at that speed and witha low pedal speed

because they don;t know how things work properly or something
