Just been to Aldi. Main thing i wanted was pickled beetroot to accompany a corned beef hash. So......I made a small list to make the trip worthwhile.
Wouldn't you know it, they have run out of pickled beetroot**. The young guy was very helpful and went to the store room but alas the cupboard was bare.
I got everything else though.
NB
**The local co-op have it but it's twice the price ie £1.35 as against £0.70. How can such a basic product be twice the price??

I love beetroot but don’t like the pickled stuff much. They are putting artificial sweeteners in it now. I love these fresh ones. Just beetroot and nothing else. They are naturally sweet.

Well her son came round and we used next door's ladders to get to the gutters

Managed to get 2 side done which were badly blocked
the bloke next door will do the side that overhangs his side path - he is good like that and we had to stop because he had to go and pick his wife up from work

WHole thing made a right mess one the pation and side path

After he went I did the gutter along the low bit at the front which was also blocked - bu tit is 1/3 the height so I am OK with that myself

all this "pleasent view out of the back through trees" is fine - but teh damn trees do chuck a lot of leaves into the gutters every autumn!!!

anyway - looks a lot better now and the rain next week should shift the remaining bits

I'm wet and knackered!

Got my set up to run the TIG torch and had my first attempt at TIG welding this morning. Managed to strike an arc and run a couple of short lines on a test piece before my Argon ran out - must have had it on much too high a flow rate.
Anyway, it's going to be a long and expensive learning curve - but fun.
Here's me in my happy place.

Done some studying. Had a cheeky look at rhe next assignment, so at least I know to pay particular attention to.

Tomorrow will clean the van and Mrs D's new car, and get a bit more studying under the old belt.

@Dirk I like the look of that little Beeza.

Good for ing from a damp Dorset. If the weather clears we shall get the bus into town and then walk along the seafront to our lunchtime get together for our running club annual dinner and awards at a posh pub. If the weather's not good then it's two buses.
No time for a nap afterwards as granddaughter will be staying with us overnight and will keep me busy 😁

Morning folks :okay: im liking this advance towards spring there may be further wintery blasts but wont last. Ive been busy in the garden-tidying and prepping for the growing season even sowed some flowers in a propagator, echiums. Sent off for some geraniums' Ann Folkard', eringiums and pulmonarias, still waiting for raspberry canes to arrive.
A blackbird has been following me around and hops into the kitchen after some cheese ^_^ the bird bath is being well used especially by the blackbirds and sparrows arrive and have a pool party!
Lots of buds swelling on various shrubs and fruit bushes- remarkable that theyre inbuilt timing mechanism knows when to get going...not so long ago they were being freeze dried or under the snow! :okay:

Geranium 'Ann Folkard' :okay:
