Morning.
Got up expecting it to be raining but still dry and brightish. Due to change this morning though.
Few chores then maybe some weights later.

World Book Day judging by the schoolchildren walking past the house. Granddaughter is quite proud that she has recently become a " Free Reader ". Her school has a series of set books to read and once you reach a certain level of proficiency you are free to read any book ( though you still need to keep a record of what you are reading ).
In other news, I've just hung my warm winter jacket in the wardrobe as 🤞 it's no longer needed. There's a wardrobe in the spare bedroom that we use to store rucksacks and winter stuff. Nestling at the end of the rail is a jacket, still in the plastic wrapping that it came back from the Dry Cleaners in. It belongs to one of the sons who has been living and working abroad for nigh on 20 years. I did once suggest taking it to a charity shop but evidently he might have need of it one day...🤔

Good morning, from another glorious day in Lancashire. Clear blue sky and sun. @numbnuts - very happy to read your news. Good luck

A great ride yesterday, both of us pleased to find we can still conquer Jeffrey albeit not quite so quickly. I was surprised to find it's five years since I last rode that particular climb, yesterday was five minutes longer than 30/03/2021. Strava does have its uses. We've lost a minute for every year, I can take that. Today is far less exciting, household chores, a couple of minor meetings with people etc. I'm might try the gym tonight but probably should take a rest day after three rides and 173 miles in five days. It's beginning to feel like pre-crash days. Yeah!!!

Edit - on a 3.4 mile climb, 2021 was 20:04, yesterday was 26:52. So nearer seven minutes. I'm still happy.

Poor Jeffrey!

Overcast and drizzly walk done and porridge finished. I could do with a few things from the supermarket so will wander up later.

Barnet,
The bedding has been washed and is hanging on the line. It's going to be a good drying day.
Millie is home after spending the day at the Vets. She was tackicardic and very dehydrated. She has a gall bladder infection which is being treated with a broad spectrum antibiotic. The Vet agreed that she is nowhere near the point where a decision has to made. Thank goodness for the insurance.
My tomato seeds have been sown in my heated propagator along with sweet peas and lavender. Spring has arrived, it may be a little optimistic, but I'm getting ready.

Just had a visit from " Ringo " a local cat that saunters between houses in the neighbourhood at will. He's well looked after but nobody seems to know who actually owns him🤔 I dished out some of the Hedgehog food which he ate, had a casual house inspection then disappeared out onto the patio and away to the next port of call. 🐈

After nearly a week of sniffles I also have earache and jaw ache ( caused by blocked Eustachian tube no doubt) I will still try a weights push day today. Got to get the weekly food shop out of the way first.
I have to make a start on a real spring clean soon as will be putting the house up for sale fairly soon. ( Fiancee thinks next week!)

Looks like out council tax rise might be 5%

I have blocked a local group on Facebook that was becoming more and more right wing - last straw was a perfctly normal post saying that the local MP actually does do things and they can see it if they look on his website
The owner we rather mad at me being a woke leftie and he doesn;t want people like me on HIS facebook system
He lives abroad!!!

I have also given up with reason and blocked (I hope) a couple of other groups -one was called "Britain First" - that Facebook seems to have decided I like

Honestly - I normally try to post a few comments just pointing out a more reasonable idea - like maybe send an email to the MP or counsel ratehr than just complaining

but they seem to be heading to the extreme right far too fast

so I have given up and just blocked them
