Managed a ride this morning - before it started raining all after noon

Canal paths were really dry - which was a surprise

there was an incident - nearly back and just entering Spike Island
so basically still riding along a canal paths - but tarmac and quite wide for a canal path

and I saw a scrambler motorbike coming towards me
OK - probably illegal but he was going slow-ish and no problems

but when it got close I noticed there was another bloke on the back and as we passed his hand reached out as if you grab me as they went past

not sure if he missed, or started too late or just backed off

but WOW!!

I noticed him to late for that - by handlebar were already past him and we were both doing about 10 mph

but there was certainly something that he did

I have reported it to the Polce - nothing they can do about this but you never know if there is a patten or some copper sitting in the back will find several reports and think" hmmm - maybe someone is getting ideas we should do something about"

Oh forgot - ride today

so warm that after a few miles I stopped and took my jumper off and rode the rest with just the t-shirt and light hi-vis coat

Was even thinking I could have done it in shorts!!!!!

First time this year!

Perhaps I'm pernanently wired up after a career in uniforms. Im always situationally aware when our and about.

18 point a bit celsiuses today, was down to my muscle vest and joggers again while digging.

The alternator failed on the boat engine this morning so had to remove, right pita and try to find another.

Wife's son and his family - especially the 13 year old got me this t-shirt for my birthday - maybe you need a similar one!!

When they gave me this I commented "Wow - I didn't think people had noticed the last bit"

The 13 year old grand-daughter said "I have - normally a few hours later"

I commented that it could be worse - I could have got a job as a teacher in her school
she rolled her eyes and commented "Oh God"

wonder if they need any short term supply teachers???

Turns out the top bolt on the shock de-threaded it sell when they were trying to install the springs…..& they couldn’t get a new shock until the morning….so AA had to get us a hire car (car? a huge mini-bus 🤣) so we could come home again 😜
Try tomorrow. Couple of wasted (but cheap) hotels too late to refund, and a “through the night” drive down France tomorrow for us 🤷‍♂️

Yawn. Ought to get some sleep, but it’s been a long and challenging day 🤣
