Good morning. Grey and drizzly, it's like November here, not March. It's a small person day, #2, but her Mum, my DIL, is coming as well. It should be a fun day. I'm interested to see how #2 behaves; as normal with Nana and Granddad or as normal with Mum? We have noticed for all three grandchildren these are two very different types of behaviour. I don't feel their parents truly appreciate the great job they are doing. Besotted Granddad aside, all three girls are real stars; chatty, loads of fun, well-behaved etc...............until they get home. Different house, different rules I guess?
My new bike was meant to be ready this week. The LBS unwrapped the forks to find a tiny dint on one side. Those are going back. A little disappointed but my next chance to ride is next week so it doesn't really matter.
Now, am I allowed black humour? Go on, Mrs P has been practising for months. I don't do this. She can say stuff that no one else is allowed to. We've laughed for 48 years, if we can't now then when can we? The close friends we repeat this to laugh with us. From time to time Mrs P gets the head to one side, gentle voiced "and how are you?" her reply on occasions has been "Still warm" (We do understand people's very real concern). Last night Mrs P's brother, my BIL, called, he lives across the world. He's not very sharp. This is a video call on speaker. Mrs P told him her treatment no longer works. BIL asked, "What happens next?" There was a pause at this end. Mrs P then patiently explained.......to a man whose wife owned a hospice.......After the call I said "I thought you were going to say something else" Mrs P "You mean 'I'm going to die'?" Paul "Yes" Mrs P "I wanted to, I really wanted to"
I don't mean to offend. We all deal with this situation differently
My next stop is Chorley. I'll go to the gym, some banking and a bit of shopping to do before returning to the chaos #2 usually brings.........
