I have just finished writing my memoirs for the benefit of my two children. I have printed it and will give it to them.
It will give them an idea of what I have done in the last 75 years, especially my youth.
In all, it is 10000 words.
My father did it and I thought it was a good idea as I learned a lot about his past, things he never discussed when he was alive.
I hope my son and daughter will do the same one day about his own lives and their own children too.
It would be nice to have four successive generations explaining what they have lived through and see the changes in life styles over more than a century , for our descendants to reflect upon and trace the history of their own family.

That is a good idea

I used to talk to my Dad a lot when we went to the Air Show in Fairford every year and stuff

But I have forgotten a lot of the bits and pieces and I remember bits of what ne said but wonder whay and when sometimes

Even stupid things like when he was injured in the war
I know he was based at Fairford mostly and worked on Stirlings
but I think, and am fairly sure, that he mentioned Halifaxes, especially regarding D-Day and being based in Lincolnshire
but the squadron that complies with the first bit never went to Lincolnshire so something does not link up

there are a lot of bits like that that would make sense if I had something written down properly rather than just remembering but and pieces

WHen I realised I have forgotten bit and not asked other bits it was too late

so having it written down would have been nice

The government wont allow my memoirs to be released until 99 years after my death for national security reasons.

Good morning from another gloriously sunny Lancashire day. I was going to bury myself in the gym this morning but it's so beautiful I've binned that idea. Task for this morning are now breakfast, prepare stir fry for tonight, collect meds, allotment work, possibly clean out the garage. The garage needs a sweep but that can be done on a rainy day so I'll probably leave it.

This afternoon it's cards group. And that is that for today.........as far as I can remember for the moment

That's got my taste buds going. I will take some chicken out of the freezer and gave a stir fry tomorrow.

Late breakfast has been consumed. Ham, cheese and tomatoes on toast (all grilled) followed by a strawberry yogurt.
Will listen to the 10.30 daily quiz then decide what to do, maybe nowt.
I had my early stroll at 8ish and will have another pre lunch one about 12ish.

We were given this beautiful Hellebore five years ago as a 40th Wedding Anniversary gift. It's still magnificent every spring. This will go on for weeks.

Neighbourhood cat arrived for a free feed, beer arrived, Mushroom growing kit arrived, new android tablet arrived and furniture is due in a short while. Good job I had a fair bit of experience in Goods Inwards when I was working...

A strange thing. I like mushrooms and have them in lots of things i cook eg casseroles, omelette or curries. Sue liked mushrooms but not as much as me.
The strange thing is that for some reason my daughter can't stand them, either the taste or consistency.

£76 lighter at the dentist which I wasn’t expecting. I had forgotten my bank card so I was glad of Apple Pay on my watch. I got an x-ray to check in between teeth for decay, a scale and polish plus she did a bit of composite bonding on my 2 chipped front teeth. Thank goodness I’m still NHS or you could probably add another zero.
