So - Saturday

The day of the year NOT to visit the grand kids - fortunately we saw then yesterday

thing is - they live close to Aintree and getting to and from their house this weekend can be difficult
Firstly because of the traffic

but also because they sometime have barriers with people refusing access unless you have ID saying you live there
Which is fair enough but...

we did have to take them home one time and we were lucky that the security guard that was supposed to be letting cars in and out had just left

when we go there the bloke opposite asked if we had had any trouble - apparently he had had to prove he lived there several times that day and exactly what they would accept changed each time

Breckie has been consumed. My daughter brought it in.....always tastes nicer when someone else prepares it.
Sausage, egg, beans, tomato, hash browns and toast....yummy.

Nice one and great spec there.
I'm also looking to buy a new bike, I'm lusting after a Pinarello purely on aesthetics. I just love how they look!
I'm thinking of X7 the endurance one with Ultegra Di2 spec. Issue I have is living in Pembs and nearest Pinarello dealer/shop is Bristol and I'm not sure they have my size. As for size, that's another issue. From what I've heard Pinarello size up large compared to other brands so there's an X7 on Cycle Exchange which looks ideal but it's in Kingston London so getting there to try it an ordeal and I don't want to buy without ensuring size is right.
So, I might end up going for new after I check sizing.

It's only money....

Yeah, it is only money and if one can afford to then a good bike is a great investment in our physical and mental well-being. My choice came down to Cervelo or Pinarello X, very probably the 7. By chance a friend has an X3 that is set up identically to how my own bikes are, the only difference being saddle height. We dropped the saddle and she let me go for a two hour ride. The X is a great bike, very, very good but I didn't quite feel the love. My C3 gives me the same thrill today as she did the first time, that's the elusive thing I chase after. If Cervelo didn't exist I would have bought a Pinarello X7, you won't go wrong with that.

I can't comment on sizing as I just don't know. My only suggestion on this is to call The Bicycle Lounge which is where I bought my frame. The shop specialises in high end bikes; Pinarello, Cervelo, Wilier, Enigma. Try to speak to Matt Middleton who is tremendously knowledgeable and his interest is genuinely to ensure people get the bike they want. Matt will be able to advise you and I'm sure would be delighted to sell you a bike. It's a long haul but might be worth a visit. They usually have a weekend when people can turn up and test ride Pinarellos.

This may not mean anything to you but The Bicycle Lounge used to be Harry Middleton's, a name held in high esteem and mentioned in hushed tones in the north-west. A great bike shop, Harry was a top guy, and ran a very good cycle club. I'm pretty sure Matt is his son.
