just beat me to it! Obviously a wine snob wrote that review 😂

I was having a discussion about wine with my drinking pals, last Friday. We all agreed, we can tell the difference between red, white, rose (by the colour, obviously), but, beyond that cannot recognise Malbec from Merlot etc, except if we have the bottle to hand 😂

I know there are certain wines I do like eg.....
A decent Argentinian Malbec
A decent Alcase white.
When i say decent im only talking £6.99 from Aldi/Lidl as afaint £4.99.

Was it a Monty Python sketch that said 'Some wines are best laying down and avoiding' ?

I have bought chocolate. Been fighting the urge all morning but the addiction eventually won.

I manage my choccie addiction by just having a bar or two each day of Aldi's Moser Roth 85% dark chocolate.

Low carb, potassium rich and, crucially, not sweet. Might help you ditch porridge & maple syrup!

The only thing that worked was the carnivore diet but I can’t see how that can possibly be healthy for any time.

Imo, carnivore diet is just too restrictive.

I put on a lot of weight a few years ago and simply created two high carb lists.

One list was 'never eat' - potatoes, bread, rice, cereals, tinned veg (inc' baked beans), etc and what I would call false pots of goodness - low fat yoghurt, etc.

Second list was 'carby treats' - choc, biscuits, cake, etc. Apart from the daily Moser Roth choc, I allow myself to eat these VERY occasionally eg birthdays, Xmas, etc.

Works really well over a period of time. You can easily dump a pound per week - 3 stone across a year if you are strict with yourself.

Barnet,
I've had a fairly lazy day.
The dog has been walked , twice, but i sat in front of the telly box for over 5 hours watching the chaos that is the Paris-Roubaix cobbled classic race..
There has been some heavy rain showers and gusty winds this afternoon, that's my excuse for staying in as much as possible.
I have a nice Ribeye steak to cook for tea, with a jacket potato and a salad. :hungry:

Well so far the weather has been saying there is rain coming in the next 30 minutes

all day

very little actual sign of it

and there was a proper storm coming an hour or two ago
which never appeared

now it is wamr(ish) and sunny - with darkish clouds around

probably a good evening for a ride but I don;t think I am up to it

any effort at all and my breathing and coughing gets bad - think the cold (or whatever) I had a few days ago is still hanging around!
