Good morning. Brilliant sunshine and not a cloud to be seen. I slept very well, this is a good thing. I have experienced some password related stress today. I'm Treasurer for our u3a which is a charity. We claim Gift Aid on donations, that's my job. I have a document in which I keep details such as HMRC and Charity Commission log ins. At some point I must have decided to password protect this document which I haven't needed to open for a year or more..................this morning I spent a happy 20 minutes playing password roulette!!! Found it and then spent a sweaty 20 minutes completing the online HMRC Gift Aid submission. It's quite simple but needs total concentration as a single wrong entry/key stroke will result in rejection of the spreadsheet.

I'm not a great DIYer, today I've got a guy coming to rebuild a fence and gate on the allotment. Yes, I could do this. It would take me days. The result wouldn't be very good. I don't want to do it. Norman on the other hand will do an excellent job in two days in exchange for some folding stuff.

Off to Blackpool this afternoon to see Sunny Afternoon, the musical charting the Kinks rise to stardom. Seven of us from the village are going on a pensioners outing. We will head off to eat somewhere afterwards. I'm excited to see this, I love Ray Davies lyrics and music and for me the Kinks are as fresh and new today as they were in the 60s

I love "Lola"!

Morning all from a sunny and windy Coventry .
Washing is on and I’ve got Prosecco and birthday card to get today as it’s Mrs exlasers 60th birthday next week . Her main present is sorted and a big family meal has been booked .
We are away for her birthday and the thing is she has talked about going to Lake Como for her 60th birthday for years , but when I tried to talk about booking it she kicked the can down the road. So instead of spending a week in Como we are spending four days in sunny Cromer 😂

Update on the cheque I receieved - the actual physical one

I managed to get to Santander yesterday. There was a queue at the counter but a lady that worked there was standing around so I asked her what I should do with it
She said I could use the machines or I could give it to her and she would do it - all I would need to do was put my card in and type in the PIN

I agreed to do that and her reaction was
"Oh Great - I have never done this witha real one before!!"

she tried to show me what to do but I told her not to bother as it would be another 20 years before I get another!!

so - all sorted - and quite an amusing little conversation

and I have £800 I didn;t have a few days ago!!

We`ll be up there the week after next. Just wrap up warm and embrace the Norfolk air. Enjoy the Cromer crab. Hope you have a nice time.

I am sure we will 😀 . We have had many happy holidays on the Norfolk/Suffolk coast over the years.
