I have always suffered from cold hands and as a teenager when in a car etc I`d sit on them. Strangely enough, a cousin suffered too. Whether it runs in families I don`t know. However, both my parents had the warmest of hands. It is so unfair !

My Mum had Raynaurds
it got worse as she got older - in the end she had gloves to get things out of teh fridge
and especially the freezer

I am rather strange - if my hands - and especially my feet - get cold they hurt - but if I allow it to comeon slowly I can tolerate quite low temperatures easily

Overall, if I feel cold outside then I can easily ignore it and make it go away
just switch it off
I used to do that when I was a teacher - I was often put on corridor duty - and one of the parts of it was to help get the kids back inside to lessons after the end of break
I would wander round the nice warm corridors all break time - then go outside in just my shirt and tie (stop it you lot - I know who you are!!!) to get the kids inside at the end
in winter they would comment how I was looking quite happy in a shirt and tie when they were freezing in a polo shirt, jumper and coat

thing is - if I left it too long my core temperature would drop with no warning and I would start shivering

I think I could have done your job. When getting the kids in were you allowed to use a whip or cat o'nine tails ?

Just back from Wimborne. We got off the bus early and walked the last few stops are we were early for our first talk of the book festival. The author had written about forgery in the 18th Century, focusing on a great great grandfather of hers, a schoolmaster who had been in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up being press ganged for 5 years and in later life took to forgery. An interesting talk followed by an impromptu visit to the Green Man for Sunday lunch and a pint, plus a very generous portion of home made apple crumble with custard 😎
No doubt an involuntary nap will be happening soon 😁

Ive Just enjoyed a walk. 1.3 miles in pleasant sunshine.
I cooking for me and my grandson as daughter and SiL are out. It will be home made burger, mash, veg and gravy.
GS is actually a good cook but I volunteered to do it this time.
Dark wash is washed, needs drying now.

On my local FB page a woman neighbour posted that she had Tits nesting in the bird box.
I just met her in the park and was so tempted to her how her Tits were doing.
But I behaved.

No - for some reason those were rather strongly discouraged


I do remember there being a discussion in my first school when one US state was considering teachers having guns in class

One of the teachers commented
"No chance - If I had had a gun in that last lesson I would have used it"

She was a very gentle very religious Catholic and very "proper" and moral
and she still thought she would have shot one of the girls in her last class

(I know the girl - I could see her point!!!)

the kids thought she was an apprentice Nun she was so religious
(and we did have a proper Nun in the school - she was the Head!!!)

but whips were not included - EVEN in a Catholic school!!!
