Good morning all.
A sunny but cool start to the day here.
I will cycle down to the doctors for an appointment this morning, and then call in to the local butchers on the way home. I fancy a bit of rib eye steak for tea tonight and a few of there own sausages for tomorrows breakfast.
Then I'll be out for a walk with Mille around one of the fields.
Sainsburys are delivering the weekly goodies this afternoon then I'll settle down and watch a bit of the Giro on the tellybox. That sounds like a plan for the day so far.

Tough day ahead then. Be careful not to over do things and take plenty of rest......................

Good morning. Grey, cold and windy. There was snow on the tops over Burnley way yesterday, not far from where #3SP lives. I'm heading out to pick her up shortly. I've slept OK but it was interupted by being awake for three hours. Mrs P was sleeping badly, this woke me an d eventually I got up and made myself a brew. I managed a couple of hours from 5.00am

It is friggin' cold for May. My last two rides have been unpleasantly cold. I'm changing back to semi-winter kit for the next ride. Yesterday was bitter without my windcheater but this is more like wearing a sail than cycling kit. I need to find a better fitting, lightweight, packable jacket. OK, I must dash to pick up the small one.

@Dave7 good luck today. I'll be thinking about you. I have early signs of glaucoma but it's been under treatment for 5 - 6 years with eye drops and remains stable. For me if the eye pressure is controlled, the potential for glaucoma is almost eliminated

Interesting Paul.
They told me similar a few years ago but
3-4 months ago 'they' said drops are no use now as the gap between the lenses is too narrow. I will ask more questions today.

Today I'll be riding to the Air Ambulance charity shop with a rucksack full of stuff for them then onwards to a local farm shop to refill the aforementioned rucksack with veg etc.

I also have to pick up a bottle of wine as a gift for a neighbour who helped me sort a car issue out that would have cost, no doubt, £75 - £100 at a garage..

I do enjoy a ribeye too. Just had some streaky bacon and eggs for brekkie. No need to fear the fat as long as you aren't combining it with carbs. It certainly seems to keep me full longer and stops the pesky cravings for junk food.

How Sad.....a whip would have made things much more enjoyable ^_^

You clearly have a different dictionary to me!!!

I have seen some heard of some films where whiping feature in the enjoyment activities
but I have never seen the reasons

But that is the problem with these woke leftie commie Departments of Education softies
They insist on sticking to other woke lefties such as psychologists and the like and their "evidence"
just because it works

I would add - I can think of a few where such "discipline" was the first step at home

at least one of the parents of those kids was "known to the Police" shall we say

Just noticed I seem to have missed most of yesterday on here!!

we were busy - mostly at the Walk in centre but never mind that (not me)

anyway - got up this morning and was just emptying the dishwasher and noticed a flash of red in the garden
so got my camera and tooke a photo

I expected it to be a robin

but it looks like a bull finch - haven;t seen on of them since I was a teenager!!!!

Yes, definitely a bull finch. They are lovely little birds. I like most of the finches. The Gold Finch is particularly lovely.

Yes - they are lovely - I see them sometimes when riding around
especially near the airport - there is a road "round the back" that only leads to a farm and the control tower - then a locked gate

so there is not much traffic and hedges on both side
it is lovely riding along there on a sunny day with flocks of finches flying around you!

I'm very interested to hear what happens today for you but also as it may educate me as to what questions I should be asking.

To date I've assumed the drops would simply continue to be effective.

Good morning, a sunny morning has already driven the frost off the roof and the heating has come on. Walking group this morning then must do some chores. Daughter and her chap are coming down from Edinburgh on Thursday week, but the house cleaning has already started 🤣
They're on their way to do a bike " race " in France, it's off road between vineyards with a tipple at every checkpoint 🍷what could possibly go wrong 😁
