Ive said it before but i/we have had many holidays in Snowdonia......that place can rain!!!

I used to live on the edge of that

I would often drive there from Liverpool and as I approached - about Llanfairfechan - there would be a clear line on the road

on the East of it is was bone dry
on the West it was pouring down!

I have read about that

which is why I always check - I generally buy Large eggs
but I check them just in case someone has put a load of medium or small ones in and put the large ones in the other box

The world is full of people like that

It would never have occurred to me to do that. We always check to make sure that none are cracked. Sometimes the sizing can be a bit offish, perhaps that is why then.

Had an AgeUK client this morning

And I would like to officially thank the woman in a blue Ford Focus on the way back that comprehensively help me check the anti-lock brakes work when I was on the way home

She saw the "street sweeper" van in front of me and clearly could see I was behind it - doing about 25 as that is their top speed

and she was turning right at the lights we were going through

So it was very kind of her to try to get through the gap between the sweeper van and myself so I could check the brakes

She did stop - I might have missed her if I had not slammed the brakes on - but it would have been by the thickness of a sheet of cheap A4!!!

so we not know the brakes work just fine!!!

I let her go in front of me anyway - I think she thought I was being kind

in reality - in situations like that I would prefer the idiot in question to get out of the way while I am stopped and safe and can see what they are doing
Rather than risk driving in front of the moron and risk them doing something else stupid!!!

Something similar happened to us last week. Slowing down to turn right at a small roundabout, no other vechicles about except a van who came from my left in plain sight, straight out. Yes my brakes work too as I stopped and then he put up his hand to say 1, Sorry or was it 2, Thank you for letting me go in front. Answers on a postcard. His purchase at the Screwfix he`d just come out of was on more importance !

When I was leaning to drive one of the things my Dad told me was

Never expect that someone coming out of a cemetery or hospital has their mind on the road - you don;t know what that were there for

It applies to other places as well but he was very good at putting in small insignificant comments that made me think

He was right, about people not having the road on their mind. That is why I`d automatically stopped , as I knew that if I did`nt, it would have been a crunch.

We had our new bins delivered a few weeks ago and today we had the explicit instructions what goes where. How long is that going to take for people to get used to it ? As we have 4 or 5 bins left in front of our house, I always take them back to whence they are collected. No big deal. Some weeks some of them don`t get collected as they have the wrong things in them. That was just being simple. Now it`s going to confuse the e`ll out of them !

Its beyond me. I could not bring myself to cheat/steal like that. I might be odd but if paying in cash and the person gives me too much change I will take it back to them.

At last, my new pin number has arrived so went to use my card earlier and it was declined because, apparently, there are going to send me a new card too which I hope, will be tomorrow.

Yep, you normally get the card the day after you get the pin.
If you have any problem then send both pin and card to me and I will check it for you.
Its no problem, that's what friends are for

Something sad occurred while I was at the pub earlier........there were 2 women at the next table, one approx 40 the other was 55. The 55 year old walked past and said something to my friend. The younger one came over to apologise and explain that the 55 year old is in late stages of dementia and that she is her carer.
The 55 year old was quite attractive and well dressed ......I found it quite sad and it feels sort of unfair if that makes sense.
