Walked down to collect a prescription, just got back as the heavens opened.

A main road near me is closed for emergency repairs due to a sinkhole. The number of twits driving round the road closed sign and then re-emerging a minute later looking sheepish is unreal. They shouldn't be allowed on the road if they are intellectually impaired to the degree that they don't understand the words "road closed".

But "Road Closed" signs do not apply to cyclists!

Ended up a full day here and the rain arrived as predicted.

Popped up to the co-op for wine etc and also called in at the general store for rolls and then the Dentists as I realised that I had two appointments the day before an Audax.
Had second brew of the day and sowed some seeds and did a bit more tidying in the greenhouse.
Coffee order finally arrived after DPD 'lost' the first one.
Soup and bread for lunch.
Did a few tyre checks on a couple of bikes.
Then hopped on the turbo for an hour or so for an endurance session, not too bad for my 'old' age.

Dodged the rain to pick the Broad Beans for a pasta, then helped the BH shell, boil and then remove the outer skins before adding to the pasta with some soft goats cheese.
Will do some stretching and rollering next before wine, snacks and watch Canal Boat Diaries and Shed and Buried and possibly something on YouTube.

Trying stuff this retirement lark.

This pic sent me down a couple of rabbit holes , one memory wise as my dad used to do a lot of air rifle target shooting in the 50/60s. And interweb wise ,1) I had no idea how popular a sport it was then , a hangover from the war when lots of large companies set up ranges and 2) the cost of the high end guns these days .😀

You have done it again , sending me down memory rabbit holes lol.
I was 16 when I first used a dial test indicator/gauge in the first year or my apprenticeship and 26 when I last used one . The worrying thought is even that is very nearly 40 years ago. 😂😀

But I can give you more ‘ boring ‘ , straight from Coventry’s very own TVR expert engine builder . In fact back in the day he used to build engine for them in Coventry before shipping them up to Blackpool. 😀 ( He also does Porsches too 😂)
