Very damp in East Cambs.

Have had two coffees, a veggie sausage bap and browsed the 'net for a bit , mostly drooling over stuff on the Radavist especially the various items on the Woods Cyclery staff builds.

The above also had me searching for coloured twine to use instead of tie wraps  and browsing here ;https://freshtripe.co.uk/ for bits as I plan to re-build the Stayer OG at some point this year and know Sam and Rik there very well.

Otherwise it will be a quick bit of shopping, then will sort out the Tern folder for sale and might have a look at the above Stayer.

Tonight will be cheese and wine and start to watch the Boardwalk Empire box set.

Just nipped out to Aldi and there is a big police presence on adjacent estate. At leas 2 marked transits, 1 marked and 1 unmarked car. I only saw 1 actual officer who was running down the road dressed in black riot gear.

Another full day.

Got out for a 70km ride to Cambridge and back that included popping in to the Apple store to pick up an order (pack of short usb cables) and in to the old workplace for a chat and to pick up some nutrition bars and gels plus some folding pedals for the Tern.

Got back and had lunch and then popped to the pub up the road for a couple of pints of Nelson's Revenge;

Good morning. Rained all night, brightened a little about 7.30 but now back to grey, drizzly and windy. I abandoned plans to ride with the club, as did most of the people in the pensioner's retired people WhatsApp group. I'm going to potter about, a few small jobs to do and I'll try to get on the allotment. My butts overflow one to the next etc. The third in one row isn't filling which suggests a problem with the connecting overflow pipe. I'm in a small u3a Grow Your Own group, they're visiting my allotment on Monday. I really need to get the sudden explosion of weed seedlings hoed out this weekend.........just a matter of pride.

We're going to Weymouth for a few days next week. My next task this morning is to find an Airbnb while I eat my porridge

Well, an astonishing amount of Airbnb available in Weymouth. I've sent Mrs P a Wish List for her perusal............

Oats. Porridge. I keep meaning to mention this for the porridge lovers in here. For years I've sworn by Kavannagh's organic oats from Aldi. They are very good. A few months ago our three local Aldis were out of stock for weeks. In desperation I searched out Aldi's supplier and came up with these people https://www.whitesoats.co.uk/ and discovered they sell under their own name in some UK stores. I get mine in Booths. The quality is top notch, the Aldi product is good but the White's own brand is superb, all large chunky oats, no dust. They make great porridge and wonderful flapjack. I get this one

I've just ordered two knock off products from Temu. I already have the branded ones from UK suppliers. I'm going to make a contrast and confirm if my Temu views are justified.

I must go, I have an overflowing butt to deal with.........................................

Barnet,
My Amazon delivery has arrived, and I ordered the wrong thing, a replacement leather strap for a belt. I have the buckle. The one I ordered has some kind of ratchet arrangement on the inside.
So a bike ride in to the post office to return it. I'll go to the market while I'm up there.

Check out Rossi's on the Esplanade if you like ice cream. It's been in the same family since the 1930's. Rona's bar and grill on the High Street does a variety of very good Turkish food, again family run. Some excellent " proper " pubs too 🍺

Well - as teh dishwasher is broken I have to wash all the dishes the old fashioned way

so we went out last night

anyway - it was lovely - as always - but very loud

which brought up the subject of hearing - especially as I had had an appointment with an audiologist earler

looks like I will be getting some hearing aids

quite fancy ones which can be adjusted by an App
I did ask but apparently there is no function to switch your wife off so you can't hear her

technology has a long way to go if you ask me!!!

Does sort of feel that I am starting to accumulate the trappings of "being old" suddenly!!!

Speaking of hearing I was walking back down the hill from the park with 8 year old granddaughter yesterday afternoon. It's quite a busy road and I was finding it difficult to hear her chatter clearly. She said " I've learned a new word grandad and it's very bad". I asked what it was and she said " F@cking "!. I said that's a very bad word, where did you learn it, and she answered " school ". I was thinking WTF! then she went on to talk about injecting chemicals into the ground to force out gas and I realised she'd said " Fracking " . Time to get my hearing checked 🤣
