Re having a TV......I've said before that I enjoy sport** and have 65" screen with surround sound so personally I dont begrudge the licence.
I also enjoy the Chase quiz prog followed by national and local news.
**this morning I watched what was, to me, an excellent program showing greatest ever World Cup goals.
During the day I have the radio on tuned to Gold radio, Planet Rock or Boom radio, all 60s/70s stuff.
I also (sometimes) enjoy Jeremy Vine, depending on the topics.

Do you not have Netflix and YouTube on your telly? Better watching it on a big screen.

I do but Mr WD moans and makes stupid comments like "they wouldn't do that". Or " this sort of thing annoys me" so I don't bother. Its like having a running commentary of perpetual moaning and I often lose the will to live. It's better if I watch stuff on my table with my headphones. At least I get some peace and quiet. 😆

Morning all

Yay! Fish Friday.
Of out later.
Now, we haven't had a TV for nearly 30 years and have told the licencing people ages ago. Every couple of years they send an email asking to confirm that we still don't need a licence. Got an email last night and was halfway through filling it out, when I thought - no, why should I? So I binned it.
I await, with interest, to see what happens next.

I get a letter every month around the 18th - 23th,
they must get a cheap rate on postage, but it still a cost to the licence payers

Love a big telly. I have a 65" as well and if it ever needs replaced, seriously thinking of going for the 77" next time.

Can't stand Jeremy Vine

I am sure he is a decent bloke
but as a presenter he just sets my teeth on edge

and the cycling videos just made it worse

Probably just me in some ways - some presenters just annoy me

I find him really irritating too and I don't think he's doing the cycling community any good with his abrasive manner.

Morning all . It’s looking a lot better here today , still windy . Wish had this windy Wednesday as it was very light winds Wednesday evening . I was I good boy and finished ( in second place ) but having to sit so still and scrunched up is very uncomfortable and in someways is harder work than sailing when it’s windy.
Re supermarkets and grocery shopping.
I think we actually used all the main ones over the course the last month . Mrs exlaser does the main shop at Aldi each week and I do a shop each week for the things they don’t stock or branded stuff we prefer at Tescos or Sainsbury’s ( plus wine 😂 ). M&S is used for treats and emergencies, Waitrose was used to buy tiptree jam ( which I love ) as they are now the only supermarket to stock it now. Morrisons was used for bar shop for the sailing club and Lidi is used to buy croissants every Saturday morning .
The thing is we are spoiled for choice, all of them are within 5 miles of our house and three of them are within walking distance . 😀

Exactly

Oh anyway

been for blood test thins morning
parking was the normal nightmare - tried the leisure centre opposite but that was full too

anyway - got it done - have to wait a few days for the results

meanwhile it is raining
the sort of light miserable rain that soaks everything

I have just ate too much breakfast, it was included in a room price so would have been rude not to.

We are off on holiday next week - I intend to do that quite often!!!

I agree in that i have no idea how he keeps that job but the actual program has some interesting topics.

Train Disruption between Poole and Weymouth means we might be stranded in Poole 😮
