Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
I have just ate too much breakfast, it was included in a room price so would have been rude not to.

You won't need much the rest of the day then.

Have to say most of the television we watch is still linear and old school though the sky box . Still watch mostly stuff from the five main channels ( plus off shoots like more 4, Dave, alibi etc ) and the sky originals etc . We also have Netflix which my daughter pays for , but if I use it, I binge and end up finding it vaguely unsatisfying. I have the same problem with Disney + and HBO now that’s been added to sky.
I think his just means I am an old fart with Luddite tendencies. 😂

Phew, I enjoy a good Netflix binge so I must still be a young fart.

Cooooeeee. 13 deg here. Its still really misty here, bordering on fine rain.

The rubbish on the TV is getting worse and worse by the week. Stupid reality c**p and just total rubbish. Now I only have the TV OK for background noise while I look at Netflix, you tube etc

Stay safe peeps :hello:

'Terrestrial' TV died long ago - one reason why we ditched our TV licence.

We get everything we want mainly from Netflix & Youtube plus occasionally Amazon Prime.

We must be weird as we're quite a quiet house during the day. Mrs Tkk will catch up with the Archers while cooking, listen to the 6:30 quiz shows on the radio while eating our evening meal. Telly only goes on for specific programmes such as Springwatch then it gets turned off.

We have the radio or Spotify on quietly in the background during daytime and only put the TV on to watch specific NF & YT programmes in the evening.

We have friends and family who have the TV on virtually 24/7. Crazy!

My TV is a 65 inch as well.

Just went into town to get some bread and milk. The weather is foul now. Like Like yesterday. So much for flaming June

You do know you made a conscious decision to move from the sunny midlands to mid wales? 😂😀
I remember when I was about 5 years old, we were living in wellington ( in what is Telford ) and we used to visit my great grandad in Montgomery regularly. It ALWAYS seemed to start raining as soon as we crossed the border. 😂😂😂

Well - the one that was there in 2003 and had been there for a while

It was knocked down shortly after I left

I mean - really - I wasn;t THAT bad!!!

so there is a new modern looking one there now
and the roof probably doesn;t leak like my room did
(why do IT rooms full of computers have to be the ones that leak????_)

to be fair - it did need knocking down as the building were old and not built very well

used to be the grammar school I think - back in the very old days

I used to go to the old one for supply teaching, now I go to the new one but only for invigilating.

Morning all . It’s looking a lot better here today , still windy . Wish had this windy Wednesday as it was very light winds Wednesday evening . I was I good boy and finished ( in second place ) but having to sit so still and scrunched up is very uncomfortable and in someways is harder work than sailing when it’s windy.
Re supermarkets and grocery shopping.
I think we actually used all the main ones over the course the last month . Mrs exlaser does the main shop at Aldi each week and I do a shop each week for the things they don’t stock or branded stuff we prefer at Tescos or Sainsbury’s ( plus wine 😂 ). M&S is used for treats and emergencies, Waitrose was used to buy tiptree jam ( which I love ) as they are now the only supermarket to stock it now. Morrisons was used for bar shop for the sailing club and Lidi is used to buy croissants every Saturday morning .
The thing is we are spoiled for choice, all of them are within 5 miles of our house and three of them are within walking distance . 😀

Aldi - bulk of shopping.

Sainsbury - things we can't get in Aldi (eg mango chutney), items where the Aldi version tastes horrible (eg brown & red sauce and tonic water) or unbeatable Nectar price deals.
