Good afternoon. The rain stopped an hour or so back, just blowing a gale now. I've been busy with admin, again, there won't be anything to catch up soon! I have a PT session this afternoon, it's body stats day..............I don't necessarily enjoy this but it has to be done,

Shopping? I do the main shop and use Aldi first, Tesco for things we can't get in Aldi, Booths for things one simply can't get anywhere else and, under protest, M&S. The protest is not because I have anything against M&S. The M&S store opened perhaps 100 yards from Booths. Booths have been in the town for 171 years, it was there second store...............I want to support them and after 43 years of shopping there don't want to lose them. Mrs P on the other hand shops at whichever supermarket she happens to be passing....................she seems to pass Waitrose too often!

TV? Mrs P will watch just about anything, some of it drives me round the twist. I zone out and then she will get cross with me. She asks a question, I don't hear because I'm zoned out in my own entertainment. I do find lots on Netflix that I enjoy. I'm still a strong supporter of the BBC but fully understand where those who don't are coming from.

I'm off.......I need to find a Lloyds Bank share certificate. To my complete astonishment they're now worth money!!!!!!

We have the radio or Spotify on quietly in the background during daytime and only put the TV on to watch specific NF & YT programmes in the evening.

We have friends and family who have the TV on virtually 24/7. Crazy!
Totally agree, we really don’t like the tv all day, Normally doesn’t get switched on until late afternoon .But Mrs exlaser and I are different if we are alone in the house during the day . She will happily sit or work in silence, I on the other hand would rather have radio on listening to talksport/5 live or Radio 4 extra etc ( not much in to listening to music anymore either ☹️ ) .
It’s strange how she finds the sound of silence restful while find it makes me restless. Any psychiatrists on here ? 😀

The only time the tv used to be on all day was alpine stages of the grand tours when we had Eurosport. But I am not going down that rabbit hole. 😂

Mrs D tells me Geddy woke her up in the night. Thinking he wanted a wee she pulled on her dressing gown and opened the garden door, butnhe wasnt interested.

Turns out he wanted a treat! And when she went back upstairs Bruce was patiently waiting for a treat as well, suggesting they had planned it together. Suffice to say the didn't get one - that'd start a never ending cycle of being awoken every night...

Good idea, rewarding them for waking you up in the middle of the night!

Why do you old codgers 'like' posts?

Moi...

...they are genuinely interesting views or snapshots of other people's lives.

...they agree with my world view.

...they disagree with my world view but seem well thought through.

...they are genuinely funny.

...they are informative and of interest to me.

Just seems like good manners if someone has gone to the effort to post something.

I’ve just picked up a lightweight Rab Windveil jacket on Sportsshoes for £39. RRP is just over a £100 so I couldn’t resist.

That's a good deal!

Rab make good gear - I have a waterproof jacket and windshell jacket from them and they are excellent.

I used to swear by North Face but they became too fashion focused and way over-priced on many items.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
You do know you made a conscious decision to move from the sunny midlands to mid wales? 😂😀
I remember when I was about 5 years old, we were living in wellington ( in what is Telford ) and we used to visit my great grandad in Montgomery regularly. It ALWAYS seemed to start raining as soon as we crossed the border. 😂😂😂

At least we will never suffer from a drought 😆
