Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Is there a bus that goes that way?

There is but it's a bit of a trek, and not recommended on the way back after several beers have been supped and you hit heavy traffic while needing a pee 🤔
Had a good lunchtime in Ashley Cross, a Pint in the Brickies as the Bermuda Triangle wasn't open until 12:00, pint of Aspalls cider with our Indian meal at Indi's then a final beer at the Butcher's Dog before catching the bus home😎

Re Supermarkets and tv.

We have Waitrose, Sainsbury's ,Tesco ,Co-Op and an Aldi and all get used depending on what we need; Aldi is the most annoying as some of the things we like to get there (sun dried tomatoes, rapeseed oil and a particular shampoo) you can never be sure they'll have them.
Waitrose is the most used as it's closest, Sainsbury's next , then Tesco and CoOp mostly for their fair-trade wine which I usually get an offer for on the app.
We also have a small bakery/store that has some nice stuff like Torres crisps(especially the pickle ones), and these crackers ;https://brindisa.com/products/savou...9rGPNsFGYCz6hHZaVd5Al6o9r9G3IvyF7yZ8USGyGICtg

They also have Pump Street Chocolate flakes and delicious bread ,rolls and pastries.

There is also a Cheese shop with plenty of different cheeses and they also sell bread from a one-man baker and Scones)
especially a four cheese one!).

As for tv we just have a Freeview tv box and YouTube gets watched a lot, but we still watch some terrestrial tv mostly recorded or on catch-up; all through a old Sony 32" tv that was I think a second or third generation model but is still working perfectly.
Sound goes in to an even earlier Sony av amp (first DTS model) but it's only used in stereo now so am looking in to getting a DAC to run the digital sound out from the tv in to a nice old Arcam amp as the Sony is shite with music TBH.

Used to have Sky and then Virgin but the costs got ridiculous so jacked them in and have no regrets.

Shetland was much like that. The only difference was the direction the prevailing wind came from,

Why do you old codgers 'like' posts?

Moi...

...they are genuinely interesting views or snapshots of other people's lives.

...they agree with my world view.

...they disagree with my world view but seem well thought through.

...they are genuinely funny.

...they are informative and of interest to me.

all of those, although, these days, I am almost always playing catchup, because of my caring duties 😊

It's still blowing a gale. I don't think I'll be riding tomorrow, I'm not happy about this. It's about two weeks since I last rode.

Not much has happened. My coach asked me to lead the barbell session today. Basically no coaching, she wanted to check technique etc and resolve a small back issue I'm experiencing.

The tennis has started. Mrs P is glued to it. Comments are flowing from the other sofa, I'm never sure if I should respond as I know very little about the game.

Possibly I shouldn't say this. Watching Katie Boulter, these young women have astonishingly long legs.
