Good morning. Bright and breezy with clear skies. Opthalmology appointment this morning for my six-monthly glaucoma check.....nothing has changed in 10+ years. So fingers crossed 🤞 My plan is to go to the gym afterwards and then go home for an hour pottering on the allotment. I'm in a small GYO allotment group. We visit each other's plots and natter. Old people stuff.

Speaking of old, today marks my completion of 72 years on the planet. We had all the family home yesterday. My sons gave me a couple of complicated looking coffee related contraptions..........I'll play with those when I've had a coffee or two.

Unintentionally watched 45 minutes or so of the England game. I had a very tough ride on Saturday, grandchildren yesterday and was in bed and asleep by 9.30. Inevitably woke at 3.00am so had a brew and half watched the second half. Back to bed and slept till 7.30. Result.

Went really ill this morning . Ambulance came for me at 10.30.
Spent 5 hours in it waiting to get in to hosi and ive been on a trolly in the corridor ever since.

coffee related contraptions

I shouldn't speed read. I thought that said contraceptions.

Walked the riverside trail earlier. Even with a good breeze I was still getting overheated. I have a bad habit of dressing for how it feels on going out the door rather than after a mile or so. A t shirt would have been fine rather than the long sleeve hoodie top I wore.

Good morning all.
I got up early, 5.00am to watch the football on the BBC I player. Good result.
Dog has been walked, strong coffee drunk, and now to do battle with the bedroom.
We are going to turn and hoover the mattress, pull the bed out and hoover behind and underneath it, MrsP wants a blackout curtain put up, so that will keep us busy for an hour or so..

It's a worry. I'm sat in the eye assessment unit, which let's face it has a certain demographic. I just overhead:

"Did you check in at reception at the front of the hospital?"
"No, I don't know where that is"
"It's where you came in"

Well, it is the eye assessment unit so perhaps they had a legitimate excuse!
