I can remember when Google was a decent search engine. Then the powers that be decided that they could make a shed load more money by not showing the probable result that you were looking for and chose instead to prioritise ad revenue. A few days ago I was reading an article in which " Jevon's Paradox " was referred to. Being unfamiliar with the term I " googled " it. It seems as though Amazon is paying to be the first result shown despite it being utter irrelevant nonsense.

I'll assume that's a yes

Anyway - went for a walk - just round the park

go nearly home and got to the mainish road that goes past our estate of houses (i.e. not an estate with groundsmen/women and grouse moors and all that)

anyway - they are digging up the road at the end and there are temporary traffic lights

and hence a queue and it was about 5:45 so there was a queue down most of the road
i.e. about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile


as I was crossing the otehr side of the road was stationary
and there was nothing on my side so I crossed

as I was crossing I heard an engine revving and looked left and a car had pulled out from the queue and was accelerating fast up the WRONG side of the road

I thought he might have been turning into one fo the side roads (but still entitled)
but no - he passed both side roads at speed and just carried on

he went so far up the wrong side of the road that that he went out of mysight

far enough that from the sound of it he just went on to the end and assumed someone would let him in!!!


I am saying "he" because - lets face it that is probably right


Oh and got home and spotted that someone has let their darling doggy shoot on my front lawn
4 lots that I found!!!!


I would assume very strongly that it was not the dog next door - they are nice people and have their dog on the lead when they go out
and the other next door has a bigger dog than that suggested

so someone is coming down the close and just letting it happen and wandering off!!!


I'm annoyed!!!!

It is. I've that new Ribble gravel bike I bought 2 years ago and have ridden ones, for less than 2 miles. I ought to up my game.

I emailed the council about this, and pointed out that they were discriminating against those without access to a vehicle. To their credit they changed the regs..

to get to the security gate at our tip you have to walk through the gate and into the tip area



so it would be funny/weird/stupid if they did that here

It does sounds terrible

weird thing is that the cause of death cannot be determined with certainty as yet

I didn;t agree with a lot of what she said

but she certainly didn;t deserve to die like that
