Good Morning. Fluffy white clouds and cool. Very pleasant. It's been a hectic couple of days with small people, my eldest boy's 40th and other bits and pieces. Hopefully life will be a little more settled today. I will clean and tidy this morning, this afternoon I'm helping to host an Afternoon Tea for all the volunteers in our u3a. These are usually a lot of fun. Then more chores when I get home, these things must be done.
Fun and games on the way home from Manchester last night. We got back to the car park last night to see the parking man had left us a yellow note. Oh, that's nice I thought a thank you for parking with us.

It was of course a PCN, a genuine one from Manchester City Council. I asked the guys why it had issued it, both responded I wasn't showing as paid on the system . I've paid was my response. Checked the ticket this morning. I drive a blue Hyundai, some poor bugger who drives a white Honda is in for a surprise and will probably have to prove he wasn't in Manchester last night. Two errors in the registration number gave the wrong make and wrong colour. It seems to me the parking guys need a refresher course. I've made a genuine effort to inform the authorities but there's no way to do so without handing over a load of personal info. If I do that I could end up with a huge amount of grief.
The motorway was closed on the way home for a police incident. Locally this is code for someone is trying to jump off a bridge. This happens with astonishing frequency round here on the M65, often, and the M61, occasionally. This proved to be the case again last night, I don't know the outcome but no one was hurt. Quite literally when the motorways are closed the first response is "someone's jumping off a bridge." It's very sad and very frequent.
Yesterday I did something extraordinary for me. I had a bike shoe fitting. What an astonishing difference to the comfort and feel of the shoe. I can no longer say my bib shorts are the most expensive item of clothing I own.....................my new shoes are!! Can't wait to get on the bike with these tomorrow.
