I have a daughter in mid 50s and a son close to 50.
3** grandchildren between 23 and early 30s.
**there are 2 other grandchildren i have never seen as my son had an accramonious split and she would never allow us to have access.

@numbnuts R2 are discussing naturism and the fact that a group have been allowed to swim naked in the local pool but new people have taken over and banned it.

We have a naked swim, but it's only once a month in the evenings
been going on for a long time now and it is well supported.
It's backed by the British Naturism, one thing a don't like is
the charge £8 per person, which is a rip off.

Good afternoon. Mrs Tkk has just returned from the local card shop with 2 Birthday cards and a " get well soon " card. She informed me that the 2027 Calendars and Diaries are on prominent display😮. On a more positive note, the shop that was the Dry Cleaners closed suddenly and was vacant for several months. A lot of recent activity with shop fitters had us pondering, another Barbers? Dog groomers? Nail Bar ? No! It's a café, and more promisingly Mrs Tkk spotted a large print of a road bike ready to go on the wall😎🤞

On a more serious note, Wife Mk2 is one of 10 children. All 10 were born within 14 years, all survived (indeed they are all still alive). The first five arrived one per year, things slowed slightly after that. Her parents did get a TV in 1952/53. 😂

My dad was one of 13 of which 11 survived to adulthood. There would have been more, but my grandfather was posted away from 1940 to 1945 😂.
It was what good working class Northern Ireland people did back then. And they weren’t even catholic. 🙂

On a personal note, our daughter is thirty and for a number of reasons i think our chance of grand kids is zero and to be honest i am not sure how i feel about that .

PS , it’s our wedding anniversary today, 38 years and never a crossed word 🙂 ( well never A SINGLE crossed word but plenty of crossed sentences 😂) Just sat pondering all those years, where did they go ?

I vought a giant cone and regretted it. I've become used to eating less with my diet and it made me feel a bit ick. Fortunately Brucemwas happy to assist me with my predicament.

Sat down to my tea of home made burger, mixed veg and mashed potato with gravy.

My late in-laws were 2nd generation “immigrants” from Northern Ireland, but, of the Catholic persuasion. 😊

A little amusing story. I am a total non-believer. Myself and wife mk2 met at age 39. Much to my amazement wife (to be) mk2 was very concerned about her father’s reaction to my not being “of the faith”. Over the months, myself and father-in-law to be rubbed along ok, but, not “best mates”. Despite the fact that, on my frequent overseas work trips, I always brought him his favourite tobacco. Then, one day, it was mentioned that father-in-law to be had acquired a large amount of wood (don’t ask), and wished to build a garden hut, but, didn’t feel confident to achieve it. I volunteered to build the hut for him. Hut duly completed, to his satisfaction, I was, henceforth “in”. I joke with wife that I bought her for a few pouches of tobacco and a wooden shed 😂

I got on very well with Sue's parents from day 1, I loved them and they loved me, more than I can say for my own father.
After the FiL died, i had a good job and had a full granny flat built on the side of our house and the MiL moved in there until she died.
What comes around goes around and I live in that flat now while my daughter and family have the house.

Got back from the quick spin this afternoon ,had a sandwich and mooched about upstairs putting washing away and looking at stuff on the 'net and heard crashing and banging downstairs.Went to see what was going on and the BH was attacking the wall in the cupboard under the stairs.We had an exploratory look last week and thought we could get it removed and use a bit more space to store stuff but didn't think it would start today.

Anyway helped her out removing more of the top plaster and drilled a hole lower down to see that it was bricks under the plaster, couple of bigger holes and using the phones to take pics (Exposure Stradas make powerful torches) we could see that the bricks were put up end on end and had been very roughly thrown up and not at all structural .

So took the bigger bits of plaster off the top that were used to join up the wall and the plaster board on the stairs could see even better that it was not holding anything up so will now look at the best way to get the wall down, looking at the construction it shouldn't take much! It doesn't really gel with the rest of the house as mostly it was very robustly put up(a 50's ex-authority house.

Once the wall is down we'll probably line the bar walls with thin ply and put tiles down on the floor .

Just got back from a last fog walk, it's still quite warm out there.

We put an insurance claim in today for the damage in our bedroom as over the last few days the windows are sticking, and part of the sill has moved so it would appear to be a structural problem with the Bay. 🤔

Tomorrow, MrsP wants to go and play crazy golf, our son is coming over as well. No doubt lunch will be on me.🙄
Nearly time for bed and a read of this weeks Cycling Weekly.
