I 'mislaid' my nhs hearing aid a few weeks but was sure it would turn up...... .it hasn't.
Just phoned and the next appointment is 18th August.
It will cost me £85 and has to be cheque or cash.......they have a card machine but the WiFi is hit and miss.

I have a small bottle of Blue Nun in my cupboard, it must be 15-20 years old

Chuck it down the drain and get a decent Liebfraumilch or Riesling, it wasn't ever that nice 'new'.

Talking of old crap wine I remember being very sick after Zeppelin at Nebworth after drinking some rubbish wine ( probably Concorde or Blue Nun or both) and eating stuff out of tins although it may have been something else that caused it

Today has been mostly spent riding to Cambridge and back via my old employ and another bike shop, roughly 75k; nice and cool at first but got up to 32% when I got back so needed to cool down a bit on the green in front of the Cathedral.

Bike cooling off by a big house on the green (I was cooling off on a bench under the Lime trees).







800KM this month, most I've done in a month for a long time.

There used to be a great little pub called the Saint Radegund just off of Midsummer common. Very small, but great ales. Unfortunately now long gone.

Unexpectedly busy attention working on mmy front garden. Then, while I was feeling energetic, I finished building the V/U ham radio antenna id started on last week.

Mrs D got a migraine, sent her to bed.

Good evening. AWOL. Geez, life has been hectic. I see I'm 17 pages behind! Anyway all is good though I'm totally knackered so early bed tonight.

I keep imaging what it would feel like if Bordeaux started to burn. I hate this, a vision of what faces my girls in years to come.

The escape committee are supposed to be travelling through Bordeaux en route to Bayonne in 6 weeks time. Quite possibly we won't. 🤔

Evening all . Not done much today , other than take my daughter to anther interview and water the garden . Then spent the rest of day hiding from the sun .
Looking at tomorrow’s forecast, its for more of the same but even hotter. So it looks like I will be hiding from the sun again , in the afternoon at least, as I’ve got a hair appointment in the morning and I am sailing in the evening .

Mrs Gunk and I attended my daughter’s graduation this afternoon, she got a first from Kingston in fashion. Neither Mrs Gunk or I went to university so we’re super proud of her.
