Morning all.
A decent sleep has been slept.
Today will be difficult. I am in hospital for the 1st of 2 ultrasound (2nd on Thursday) while they try to find the root cause of the recent problems.
Main problem is, the scan is booked for 1700 and I can't eat or even drink after 11.00 which seems extreme but I have in in black and white.
Meanwhile my query is do I go for a walk ? Forecast says showers from 0600 turning to rain but no sign of it yet.
Unlike Mo, I cant just get out of bed and go.....its takes me an hour to fully wake.

Good morning from a balmy Dorset. Daughter and grandson went to the beach yesterday evening at about 7pm, it's the best time to go as it's still warm and the beaches are less crowded. Earlier they had collected some compost from B+Q so I was able to repot my rubber plant, quite the task but done now. Tuesday is Walking group ( auto correct suggested " walking dead " 🤔). Blue bin and food waste. Ernie came up with £225 this month.
Stay hydrated folks, I've read articles saying it's especially important for you oldies 😉

Nearly forgot to check…..£275 for me. That’s more like it. I’ve been spending a bit too much lately so that’ll help plus the car is due an MOT.

I think I’ll just be in my pjs all day as we have a solid day of rain.

I have a " Savings Jar " as a sub account that I transfer my PB winnings into, it makes it easier to keep track and " walls it off " so I'm less tempted to dip in. Some months I find that I have to dip in and transfer some to my current account, but I always transfer it back once my pension drops into my account. I also transfer the remaining monthly balance into the " Savings Jar " so I start each ( lunar ) month afresh as I find it gives a clearer overall picture of my finances. An added bonus this month is that I have been " All Electric " for a whole year. That's worked well as having Solar and a home battery my total energy bill for the year from Octopus was minus £143.78 so they ended up paying me 😁
( I'm aware that by paying out for battery / solar in effect I've paid upfront for my ongoing energy bills, but it feels good to have the energy companies paying me, and I'm more insulated from future price rises )

A spot of packing, polishing and wondering why I only managed £25 with ERNIE today 🤣
Temperatures far more bearable now.
& a pub trip out tonight with an old pal, after dropping MrsMikeIOW off for a meal with her ladies. Hoping they sell Guinness 0% - the best no alcohol drink I’ve found 🍻

Meant to ask you a question!
A friend is ‘clearing out’ his brothers house - he is in a home and won’t be returning 😞
He has an amazing looking motorbike in the garage: looked to me like it is from The Great Escape, although I’ve no idea of the actual age. His brother had fully restored it, but it has clearly sat there for years (maybe decades) under cover. I’ve only seen a photo of it, so no idea what it actually is, but clearly a classic.
Any suggestions the best way to get it appraised/sold?

Good morning. Grey and grizzly drizzly, nice and cool. Granddad is tired. 118 miles yesterday, mostly averaging 15 but after 90 miles my buddy tired. Ten from home he headed off to take the flat route home for him, declaring he couldn't face the climb. That left me with 10 miles to go including four climbing. I slowed a lot and overall average dropped to 13.8. I'm a bit disappointed as for most of the ride we were on target for eight hours and 15avg.

The cafe had run out, literally, of food when we got there. More on this later.

I have #1 and #3 today........that's going to e tougher than 118!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
