Getting old but not past it

Bonjour.
They say you have all the time in the world when you retire.
I beg to differ.
I tend to ride my bike at least twice a week to allow for recovery time.
Today is supposed to be time for a ride but we had visitors so couldn't go.
Yesterday the weather was against me too.
Tomorrow, we have more visitors.
Saturday Mrs G wants to go to a garden centre with our daughter and grand daughter who have come up from Devon.
Sunday they all want to go for a meal in Llandudno.
So , really, if all goes well , Monday is my only option.

Still cloudy and cool here but got some dead heading and tidying done as well as picking some Beetroot for tonights meal (Nigel Slater recipe).

Got a nice shirt at a chazzer and another Daniel Craig Bond film on DVD so we can now go through them all.

Did a bit more tidying in the house, mostly clothes to see what needed relegating for rag ,some t-shirts ;socks and pants are on the way out so we'll be doing an order on Community Clothing some time for socks mostly(and maybe some pants) as I've got some of them and they are wearing well and the BH needs some short socks as well.

Executive decision to get some wine tonight so nipped to the CoOp and had a fuss of a friendly cat.

Afternoon all. Just back from taking my daughter to another job interview, seems to have gone well , fingers crossed . It was a win for me as I managed to have a bacon batch ( roll ) and a coffee while I was waiting for her. Don’t tell Mrs exlaser as she is making us bacon and cheese panini for lunch and it would have been rude to tell her I am not that hungry 😂.
Off out in a bit to pack up Mrs exlaser boat this afternoon as it’s her boat classes national championship this week Friday to Sunday . Luckily it’s not to far away this year as it’s at Hollowell which is just in Northamptonshire so only about 35 mins away from us in Coventry .

I’ve just thought, I must remember to warn Mrs exlaser to be on her best behaviour as we are venturing into’ @Drago Land ‘. 😂😀😀

Had the grand kids - boys anyway - as said before

They were great - middle one can be a problem due to autism and otehr things - but he was fine and was helpful and in a good mood the whole time

Took them for a walk to The Dinky Cafe Boat - a cafe on a narrowboat which goes around the Bridgewater canal
we were a bit late and missed it - partly because they shut up early for some reason so passed us on the towpath on their way home to the marina
but the main bit was to get the kids out for a walk so that was OK

after dropping them off home I thought I better check the tyres as the type warning light was on - I have cancelling before - but it came back so I checked again

found a screw in the back left tyre - no pressure drop at all but a screw in the tread!!

anyway - better take it to the garage tomorrow!

Barnet,
Good morning all.
I awake to another cloudless sky.
All the usual stuff to do today, and the escape committee is meeting at the Mitre this afternoon.
The insurance company, or in reality the loss adjusters have rejected our claim deciding that the lathe and plasterwork in the bedroom has not failed because of any subsidence or heave, but age related problems and a defective bay.
Ineed to talk to the builder again today.
