Good morning from a bright cloudy Dorset. There's an organised bike ride / skate / scooter in Bournemouth today, only six miles but it's a family friendly event with DJ systems and other entertainment along the way. Starting at AFC Bournemouth football ground and heading out to Southbourne before heading back along the overcliff ( no cycling allowed on the prom after 10:00am ) I expect the Beryl Bikes to be out in force, Looking at the Beryl app I see E scooters, Electric and non electric bikes and also Cargo bikes which I've not seen "" in the flesh " yet.

Not much planned today. Would have taken Mrs D out in the C70 but shes still a bit wobbly after Friday's fall. I wonder if this is a precursor to a spell innthe wheelchair? That'd mean less time in here for me as she relies on my more during those periods, and id ferry her to and from work. Fingers crossed some R&R restores normal service.

I have this problem where offtimes the devil takes over my mouth.
Yesterday we were in the pet shop getting a birthday present for Geddy (hes 1 tomorrow) when Mrs D struck up a conversation with the lass on the counter.
Mrs D was saying how her sister has a labrador, a lovely big lad called Dobby (the dog, not her sister). Hes much sought after for guide dog charities around the world, and she was saying how skme of his trousers gravy was recently sent to Japan.
At that point the devil took control of my mouth and he said, "its probably considered a delicacy over there."
Cue one young lass on the till struggling not to encourage me by laughing out loud.

Morning Papa Dirkie.
It has been decided that we are going up to Tring reservoirs and that part of The Grand Union canal.
There is a lovely cafe , funnily enough called the Waterside, where we can get a good brunch.
Millie can't walk too far now so we can sit there and watch the boats and the world go by.

then better start looking at the pagoda/zepplin hanger and see it I can get some of the last panels in
might be easier if they fitted properly - but yesterday we managed to "persuade" then in
DIY assembly products really need to think more carefully about how "some bloke in a garden" will manage on an uneven surface and wil zero previous knowledge about how it goes together!

Another dry, sunny and warm day. Getting much hotter this week and no rain. Given the amount of rain we get over the autumn and winter it's an odd feeling thinking it might be a good idea for some downpours! I'm concerned for wildlife, the animals must be struggling.
Not sure on plans today, pretty tired after yesterdays ride so an lazy day on the cards.

Back from my walk. 3.5 pleasant miles done. I added a loop which goes down one so called Lane** and back via another.

What's with these people starting these threads every bloody day with the stupid titles? For some reason I find it quite annoying. But I am easily annoyed.

Having bought a motorhome, when we retired, 19 years ago. We subsequently spent the next 15 years touring Europe for 5-6 months of every year. It was brilliant. A combination of Brexit and Mrs B’s health brought it to an end.
My advice is, the money is not the major consideration. You have to be sure you will LIKE it! Many people give up after one trip. Next, you need to think about the type of van. If you are planning short breaks, or, if you wish to visit many places, spending just a day or two in each, then a campervan may suite, if (as we did) you plan to go for months at a time, you need more space, so, a coach built or A class Motorhome may suite. You need to think about what “kit” you plan to take with you, and, how you will store it. Another major consideration is, once you get to your destination, how will you travel around the area? (We used bicycles, and, sometimes towed trailer with motor scooter on it).
We spent about £30k 19 years ago, subsequently upgraded 3 times, the most recent 2017 (that one was £50k then). Not sure what % of our liquid assets we spent, but, it was a fair chunk!
It is a lot of money to spend, but, if you are going to enjoy it, DO IT!, my children told me “go for it dad, if you don’t, we will! “.
