Good morning. It's already very warm, nay hot! So where have you been Paul? Well basically busy with life, all the small stuff that makes up day to day. Most of it is pretty good. Today is much the same, lots of little chores I've been tackling since 7.00ish. Mrs P washed the covers yesterday, I put them back on and feel like I've done three rounds with Mick McMannus!
We had a great gravel ride yesterday, towpaths, trails, old railway lines and I reckon had dappled to deep shade for 90% of the ride. We were around north Manchester much of the time. It really brought home to me the importance of green spaces to an urban environment. Such a shame no one thought about this 40/50 years ago..............perhaps the planet wouldn't be burning?
We had fun last night. My allotment, six friends and neighbours, bottle of wine and a few beers..............five collanders..............it all got a bit silly really but worked. It was a great night for the three things; the eclipse, the meteor shower and a hedgehog. Mrs P decided we would lay in the hammock to watch for shooting stars, she got three, I got one, my first ever! Walking down from the allotment about 11.30 I was holding a small torch and glimpsed something to the side of the path. A hedgehog!!!! Wonderful. This is important, the first I or my neighbour have seen this year. I've seen some pooh but no animals. We have another neighbour who believes strong chemical weedkillers, pesticides and rat/mouse poison are appropriate for use in a small rural village. Frankly, he's a dick. We used to have a thriving hedgehog population which we thought had been wiped out. To see this healthy, strong little chap was great news!
Tonight I'm heading off to the Lusso factory outlet sale. It's hosted by Bury Clarion. I do hope they don't get first dibs but have my suspicions.
More chores. Be good. 👋👋
