Good morning. Grey and wet. Another night of continuous gentle rain, the growers will be delighted. Today? Well it's cards group this afternoon followed by a trip to Manchester for an early Italian meal and on to see Kevin Bridges at the Apollo. I've always wanted to see him and even though we don't like arena venues for comedy know this is the only chance.
This morning the washing machine man cometh, well he's arrived in fact. The machine won't drain. We washed a throw which basically disintergrated and blocked everything. YouTube told me I would need to go in through the back or bottom . The repairman has confirmed this. £85 well spent as it saves me an entire day or perhaps two!
Yesterday's ride. Well then. I won't bore you with the details but............four of us set off. At one point I and another guy stopped to take our rain jackets off. The other two came by "we'll catch you up." Jackets off we set about the pursuit. No sign of them. No problem, it's a fast stretch we can up the pace. I did 8½ miles on the front at 22 - 24mph. No sign. I know they're good but this is ridiculous. WTF are they? We reached the cafe. My phone went "Where are you?" "We're at the cafe" "Oh" Twenty-five minutes later my two buddies rolled in. After they passed us one took a wrong left turn, the other didn't notice and took a wrong right turn. Eventually they found each other and called me.
There you have it, down in the annals of history...........four pensioners went for a ride and went in three separate directions.............it's a worry. Let me be clear. I was on the route the whole way.................HONESTLY
