Change of plan. No ride today as the wind is too strong: 22mph.
Apparently, it will drop to 12 mph tomorrow so I shall wait till then.

Glad to see Charlie is sticking to his guns and making sure Harry and Meghan are clear they definitely won't be working royals again. I've no time for the pair of them.

I think his comment is aimed at the bellendery that rhn the media.

The public seem to understand what "theyre not working royals and they make their own financial arrangements" are but the media are wilfully obtuse and need it spelling out.

I'fe BG'd for Camilla when she visited Northampton General Hospital. She was charm personified. I wore the blue lapel badge, whcih signifies I was not armed. Took a moment to chat us us bullet-blockers, asked how we were, expressed hope we werent being dragged in our our days off (we were, but said we weren't), just seemed a warm and friendly person.

Most police or army personnel seem to like the royalty. One of my ex colleagues was the Queen's personal piper for a while. He said she was lovely to deal with and very considerate and compassionate when his wife was seriously ill.

Morning all!
Well, the IOW circuit went very well: absolutely astonishing weather - bright, warm, light breeze. A few too many hills (god, how I hate hills!), lovely rest stops & a chilled beer at the end 🍻

Even a cool post box topper close to the end🤪

& now we have RAIN!
Great for the garden….a morning indoors for a change for us 👌

I rode around IOW a couple years ago, it wasn't the Roundee I just did it solo but really enjoyed. Weather makes a big difference of course, the day I did it was perfect warm sunny and light winds. As for the hills I was wondering what it would be like but no probs really as it was exactly the sort of riding I always do.

One has to swear ones allegiance to the monarch, else one doesnt get in.

There is a very tasty soft cheddar from Wales called Y Fenni, it's made with mustard seeds and ale. I have bought quite a bit of over the years, last time, I bought a whole wheel from the welsh cheese company. I cut it into wedges and the regulars at the Mitre bought most of it
It is instant Welsh rarebit if sliced and put on toast.
I believe that Y Fenni is the old Welsh name for Abergavenny

Waste of good beer in my opinion!

Well I've been up for a few hours and it's another glorious day mid 20's expected. It's going to be a lazy day today after yesterday, might take a little wander round the plateau after lunch and have a stop in at one of the cafe/restaurants on the way back.
