Nice and sunny here and less windy than earlier this week.

Breakfast, two coffees and washing up done ,was planning on going out with the BH for a pootle but she's been up all night with a dicky tummy so not really up for it.

Watched a guy on YouTube this morning just pooling around Ottawa so may do the same here for a change although obviously it's a lot smaller City! Just got to decide on what bike to take.

Off to Bude today for fish & chips by the sea.

Woohoo excellent - nothing beats chips at the seaside - watch out for those thieving seagulls, I was at a seaside kiosk and there was a seagull perched on a railing about 6ft away from the customers, we were all watching this seagull as the server brought out a bacon butty, she saw the seagull and was watching it when the seagulls mate dive bombed from the side and took the butty, the seagull on the railings was a decoy! I reckon they took turns - it was very funny.

Morning all , nothing exciting to report from yesterday. No ferry’s or cliff railways lol , just a nice trip out to visit Totnes where we had a picnic by the river , a walk round the town and a very pleasant drink in a riverside pub.
We are doing event less to day. 😂 Coffee in the cafe in Fishcombe cove which is only 50 yards away, then lunch , then off to Berry head for a walk. Stoping on the way back for a cream tea.

Really living life in the fast lane …… not . 😂😀😀

Good morning. Grey and damp here. I keep getting distracted by other threads We successfully left the village and returned. The locals were in revolt. If we wanted to get out, we moved the barriers, drove through, and then put the barriers back. The UU workers were not impressed. The big hole has been filled in. The play was an amateur production of a farce. It was dreadful. If we had been on our own and not with friends we would have left at half-time.

I have more shed painting to do, a visit to my PT this afternoon and then village quiz tonight. What a busy day. At some point I'm going to measure the distance between my finger tips and elbow

My Doctor asked me to do that finger tip to elbow measurement thing once.
I told her my daughter did it and it was 1.3 metres.
How did I know it was supposed to be tips to elbow of the same arm

Just remembered

While we were away we were going along one of the bendy roads - wide enough but bendy
and came up behind a cyclist

Naturally slowed down and all that
but I was impressed - I kept a check on my speedo and I reckon he was doing 20 mph and over the whole time
He was clearly staying in the middle of the lane - he did have a car behind him with a driver of unknown attitude etc

but I stayed back and eventually we came to a straight bit so I could pass him

but he was doing damn well - not a fancy carbon frame or anything either - just a normal road bike !

TGV was 38 minutes late from Bayonne which is 10 minutes behind the 07.42 running 3 hours late. Lineside fire and vandalism is the cause.
We will probably miss the Eurostar at Gard du Nord as it take about 45 minutes to cross Paris.
I will have try and get on a later train, there are seats available on them.

At some point I'm going to measure the distance between my finger tips and elbow

I find it’s a handy measurement for judging reach on bikes.

I nipped up to the Co-op for a few things. At least I can’t buy chocolate with being strictly caffeine free but I did spy Mrs Tilly’s tablet flavoured popcorn and couldn’t resist buying a bag to try. It’s bloody good and so moreish that I suspect it will all be scoffed this afternoon.
