I read recently that more of The Underground is on the surface rather being actually underground!

That is true.
There are 272 stations in total, of which 156 are above ground.
When the original Underground lines were built in the late 18th and early 19th century, alot of the lines were totally under ground, withe the exceptions of the Metropolitan Railway and the District Railway.
With the expansion in the 1920's, '30's and 40's most were built above ground. The exception being the Victoria line built in the 60's which is totally underground except for the large depot in Tottenham.
I just checked, and approximately 23 miles are in cut and cover tunnels, ie the Met. and District.
And 93 miles are in the deep level tube system, Piccadilly, Northern etc.
So 106 miles out of a total of 250 route miles.

Just had a rummage through my chest of drawers and found a 40 year old T shirt from a run I did when I was a lean, mean, running machine 😁. I resisted the temptation to try it on as I didn't want to tear the material😮

Anyone know what these little beetles are? They are living on my tomato plants, but don't seem to be doing any damage.

Just had a rummage through my chest of drawers and found a 40 year old T shirt from a run I did when I was a lean, mean, running machine 😁. I resisted the temptation to try it on as I didn't want to tear the material😮

I’ve got a Gore shakedry jacket that I really want to be able to wear again but damned if I can stick to any diet for any time. I could barely zip it up last time I tried and have gained a bit more since.

Still fresh here but a nice blue sky. Strange not seeing any Swallows or House Martins swooping about but the last little straggler that was still sitting on the wires two days ago has gone now too.

A few months ago, I finally threw out a mid-blue Berghaus fleece top that was purchased in Fort William in '94.

It was a sad day.

Clothes, like a lot of other products seemed to be made so much better back then.

Having lost 55lbs I've needed am entire new wardrobe. Bought it all from, vinted for pennies. A lot of it unworn. Got a brand new £150 D'Arcy sport coat for £12!
