Morning all.
13° grey and drizzly.....we are in for a wet day which suits my 'do nothing' mood.
I need a quick trip to Aldi as im short of milk. I have enough for today but do not fancy shopping on a crowded Saturday.
My cleaner is from Slovenia and was not familiar with The Proclaimers music. So, yesterday, after she'd finished we sat down to watch the musical film Sunshine on Leith. Armed with a supply of choc ices and lolly ice (iced lollies for you suvenners) we thoroughly enjoyed our matinee.

I watch some of the Border Force ones on the various catch up services and players. The bollards people try and come up with is astonishing, and how theh expect any border in immigration officer with half a braincell to believe them is anyone's guess.

The British ones ere funniest, demanding their rights, a solicitor, etc. Well, the dont f*** about in the US and Oz like they do over here and its funny watching them throw their little tantrums followed by the dawning realisation. It isnt going to work.

Good viewing indeed.

And the prison sentences for anyone trying to smuggle drugs into Oz ....7 years, no messing about. Over here they get 18 months.

Don’t know about down there but they would only serve 30% of that up here. No deterrent whatsoever.

Apparently my American Gothic satirical picture was deemed 'political' and was removed. Pathetic.
Today we shall be going on the train to Blue Anchor, walking up to Dunster and then back on the train to Watchet for lunch.

Meanwhile a young bloke in Western Australia who strung a wire across a bike path causing three cyclists said to be travelling at 35km/hour to crash. No major injuries noted but the bikes were "destroyed".
The miscreant was sentenced to 11 months and three days which was suspended!
Possibly the magistrate did not like cyclists very much either!

Mrs Tkk has been regaling me with puns and plays on words. Our granddaughter in that there London has just transferred to the Thomas Jones school. " I'm sure there's lots of green green grass in the playground, after all it's not unusual for that to be the case " etc. currently racking my brains to come up with a retort, perhaps @welshie is familiar with his back catalogue 😉

Bonjour. Grey and wet outside.
Mrs G will be out most of the day and I have no idea what I am going to do apart from walking Molly.
I was planning to go for a ride but don't like the look of the weather either.
On the other hand, I am looking forward to tomorrow morning as my son is having a flying lesson we bought him for his birthday last year.
It will happen at Caernarfon airport and my daughter is coming too so a great day out as it is not very often I get to see them both together as we have busy lives.

Saw a customs one yesterday where they did a random stop and the bloke had a blue case with line green rope tied round it

They did the normal "is this you case" stuff and he said yes
until they opened it and he said "That's not my case"
Yeah right - blue case with bright lime green rope???

He insisted and the customs guy's face was a picture trying not to laugh or call hima moron

but eventually he took the guy back to the carousel and low and behold there was another blue case there with lime green rope round it!!!

I'm up again, I see the BBC are at it again, this time with a £11 broadband
surcharge to make every one pay, good news to those who pay the licence
as now it won't cost so much only £132 per year, but you can bet that will rise
every year, me I'll have to find £11 for something I don't use to subsidise those who do.
How can that be right ?

Whoa! It's not the BBC "at it again" but a cross-party government committee considering proposals for the renewal of the BBC Charter.

The current cost is £180pa, the proposal would drop the charge to £132pa.

There are 29m households in the UK, 3.7m don't pay a licence fee. That's 13% of the population who claim not to use BBC products. Presumably they only ever listen to commercial radio????? ??

Good morning. Wet and dreary. Our Nice friends arrive this evening. I'll finish the housework shortly having rearranged yesterday to cut grass, shop etc.

The new Chinese garden opens at RHS Bridgewater tomorrow. We're thinking of taking them there followed by cafe lunch. Our eldest boy wants to meet up, rather hoping he will invite us for tea! Then on Sunday it's the Ribble Valley for a walk followed by Sunday lunch at The Freemasons Arms yummy. They have a huge reputation.

7.00pm pick up at Manchester airport is going to be brutal. I'm considering going by train as it's direct from Chorley.
