Morning (just)
had an AgeUK volunteering things this morning
no-one turned up - there were supposed to be 2 people coming to Warrington
one cancelled yesterday and one didn;t arrived
which is not uncommon with older people - "other problems" arise!
Home now and it will be lunch time soon!

Afternoon all . Quite sunny here in Coventry today but very windy .
Just had an early lunch because I have a meeting with someone from Warwickshire wildlife trust about other ‘ volunteering opportunities’ . This is because they are saying because of losses in other parts of their ‘ business’ they cannot support our volunteer group going forward , all in the same week they put out a big glossy press release saying how important volunteers are to them and they are at the centre of everything they do .
I do support them and what they do and the reserve management on the ground are terrific, but I have have found at the higher levels there is a lot of corporate management bulls@@t flying around . I know this because another nature reserve I volunteer at was manager by WWT but got returned to the council parks dept and the story WWT told us about why this happened is rather different to what we found out later ( to be honest returning it to council control has been a big plus ) .
This really wasn’t what I expected when I started volunteering for the Trust, I expected to leave all that corporate tosh behind when I stopped work .

MZs are notorious for needing MOTs every year once they reach a certain age. Its a pain but the price you have to pay for such things.
If only you had asked me before buying it I could have warned you.

Did a " Mo " this morning and wandered with a friend into Poole the back way via Hamworthy beach. It's only about 3 miles away but it's the first time I have walked along that particular stretch in the nigh on 50 years that I've lived in Poole🤔
Finished with coffee and almond croissant in a small Italian run café before heading home.
