Im confused, Spice Girls first hit Wannabe, 1996, BoneyMs 1st hit 1976...thats a 20 year gap. It might be 50 years since BoneyM's first record hit, but the gap from Daddy Cool to Wannabe most certainly was not 50 years.

Yes, my original post was to say Boney Ms 1st hit was 50 years ago.
So my comment above is total rubbish

Just had something confirmed

Apparently the Catalyst Centre in Widnes is closing down

It is a museum in Wides - down by the river - which is dedicated to the Chemical Industry

I have been round it few times
but volunteered there - fixing computers and stuff like that - for a year or two before Covid

Sad that it is closing
but apparently they have basically run out of money

Re the portable bidets, this may be TMI but I encountered festival toilets for the first time this summer.
The horror, the horror.
Which festival?
We did Isle of Wight and Latitude this year, & both had flushing loos - astonishingly clean & tidy 👌
Also did Splendour, but a much smaller festival, I think those ones were a little more basic (lever to flush), but it was only one day for us.

Last day in Singapore today….it has been a blast, well worth a 4-5 visit: safe, clean, easy to get around & we have managed with just phone tapping for all payments - nice & easy 🙏
Last night’s plotting and scheming for today found this beautiful building - Park View Square - we *have* to see it 😜
Will head on to see Haji Lane and the Sultan Mosque, & see what else we find 🤷‍♂️
Will be on a 6am airport taxi in the morning, so not a late night 🫣

Are you a lot younger than most of us on this thread or have you had a very sheltered life ? I think I first experienced festival toilets at Donington Park in 1983 . I think Meatloaf and ZZ top were on the bill, ( maybe Whitesnake too ) but it’s the toilets made such an impression on me that I never went back to a festival ever again 😂😀. I have been back to Donington park , to see motor racing a few times and the Sterophonics in 2001 and I have seen concerts in stadiums since , but 1983 put me off festivals for life . 😂

There must be people on this thread whos first music festival was a lot earlier than 83 . Come on folks when was your first festival?
1970s or 1960s ? 😀😀
