I have risen!

Me too…..I was a bit reluctant to get out of bed. We have the first proper frost here. Zero degrees at the moment with a high of 11 later.

Good morning. Geez, it's cold outside. Winter bibs are the order of the day. I'm off on a short ride with the club, a 36 miler. I have a lot to do and not enough time to join the 66 miler. Speaking of festival toilets the first I remember were Blackbush in 1978. A one dayer with Dylan, Clapton, Graham Parker, Joan Armatrading. My first festival was the IOW, 1969. I don't recall the toilets.........or much else.

Today I'm in a better place. I understand why the last week has been so hard and the trigger. The trigger was a recurrence of the knee injury from 2024 but it was the trigger that beat me, that rammed home all the other crappy stuff that's going on. My physio is happy with the knee and I had a great chat with my PT. All is good. ^_^

Apologies for noise. My M isn't working. I have to hit it VERY hard to type M. That's four nackered keys on the keyboard. The laptop is nearly eleven years old. I feel some research for a new machine will occur this evening.

Good morning from a dark and chilly Dorset. I woke and asked mrs Tkk if she was ready for coffee, only to discover that she'd been up and about and there was a mug of coffee on my bedside table ☕️. I slept really deeply, probably because of the darker mornings and the heating having come on. Must crack on, parkrun awaits. Have a peaceful day folks.

Are you a lot younger than most of us on this thread or have you had a very sheltered life ? I think I first experienced festival toilets at Donington Park in 1983 . I think Meatloaf and ZZ top were on the bill, ( maybe Whitesnake too ) but it’s the toilets made such an impression on me that I never went back to a festival ever again 😂😀. I have been back to Donington park , to see motor racing a few times and the Sterophonics in 2001 and I have seen concerts in stadiums since , but 1983 put me off festivals for life . 😂

There must be people on this thread whos first music festival was a lot earlier than 83 . Come on folks when was your first festival?
1970s or 1960s ? 😀😀

I have never been to a festival of any sort.

Morning all from a very dark and very chilly Cheshire.....4° .
Rain stopped play yesterday so I need a walk as soon as my old bones feel its warm enough**
**when I was 21 I worked at Cadburys and lived some 4 miles away. The bike ride was all along the sea front (Irish Sea) and during winter that was was a hard, cold, windy ride......but at that age you just did it. But that was then and this is now

Morning all :hello:

BiL arrives this afternoon for his overnight stay.
I think we've got enough to keep him occupied and prevent endless hours of him droning on about work (he retired 10 years ago!).
Some people just can't let go.

I have never been to a festival of any sort.

I have been to one festival
Radio One festivla when it was in Bangor - I lived there at the time
Went because my daughter was desperate to go

I saw Justin Bieber!!!!!

I was very impressed

not by his music
but by how professional he was - the way it was all done
and the way he interacted with the crowd (mostly girls) was brilliant

AND - I saw Chery Cole
who was terrible
wrost lip sync I have ever seen - even on joke sketches!!
interaction with the crows was - reluctant
body language was "do I have to be here2

awefull

also saw Lost Prophets - who were also brilliant but beyond that he less said about them the better

toilets were fine from what I remember

worst toilets were at RAF Fairford at the RIAT (air show)

ABsolutely disgusting
terrible
had to be breaking several Internation Regulations
people in charge should have been hung drawn and quartered at the very least

I mean - hygiene and cleanliness wish they were OK

BUT THE QUEUE FOR THE GENTS WAS FAR FAR LONGER THAN THE QUEUE FOR THE LADIES!!!!!

Just disgusting!!!
