Are you a lot younger than most of us on this thread or have you had a very sheltered life ? I think I first experienced festival toilets at Donington Park in 1983 . I think Meatloaf and ZZ top were on the bill, ( maybe Whitesnake too ) but it’s the toilets made such an impression on me that I never went back to a festival ever again 😂😀. I have been back to Donington park , to see motor racing a few times and the Sterophonics in 2001 and I have seen concerts in stadiums since , but 1983 put me off festivals for life . 😂

There must be people on this thread whos first music festival was a lot earlier than 83 . Come on folks when was your first festival?
1970s or 1960s ? 😀😀

Well…having been born on the IOW, I lived through the festivals of 1968, 69 & the crazy 1970 one.
‘69 was in Wootton, literally about a mile down the road from our house….but being *cough* of primary school age, I didn’t get to go 🤣
We could hear the music from our house, especially up on the flat garage roof…& I do remember hippies traipsing past our house (it was an un-made-up road at the time!) on their way there & back 😜
Ashamed to admit my first actual festival wasn’t really until we started going to Latitude less than 10 years ago.

Sorry - have I mention previously that I regard cheese as the food of demons and the most disgusting thing on the planet???

You may want to avoid the Dewdrop Inn in Ilkeston, then. They sell superb cheese and onion cobs for a bargain £3.50, mmmm, delicious!
Achieved national coverage last year; journo's even travelled up from that there London to marvel at them!

I like cheese but not like that . 😀

But my best mate for the last 25 years of my working life would have loved it . Every day of those 25 years his wife sent him to work with a cheese roll for lunch . 😂😀

Just seeen an article in the Liverpool Echo

an Indian Restaurant is "genuinely disappointed" about their recent Food Hygiene rating
which is ZERO

Disappointed???

That's worse that "we messed up and cut too many corners"
it actually you were not aware that you kitchen was so terrible that it got a ZERO rating
which is showing a total lack of awareness about what they should be doing to even get the basics right!!!

I have noticed a few that have got zero - then done it up an bit and changed the name and re-opened
Nah - mate - I'm still avoiding you
even if you did get the mayor round to re-open it!

Well today was one of very rare days I wish I hadn’t gone to the sailing club. The wind direction was rubbish, the course was rubbish and to make things even worse , the duty crew that are responsible for helping getting us on the water in time were also rubbish ( which is most unusual ) . If my friend and I hadn’t stepped in to help most of the boats would wouldn’t have made their start times , unfortunately this meant my friend and I where over 8 mins late to our starts which ruined our races before we even started .
I didn’t throw my toys out the pram ( which is also unusual 😀) but I didn’t stay out on the water ether.
Watching the race was the best part of the day 😂😀
