Another chilly walk done but the frost is starting to lift already.

I suspect I will get shot down in flames on my local Faceache page. Someone posting that all walkers, runners and cyclist should be wearing high vis and "be prepared to move over" if a vehicle is coming. It was the latter part I mostly disagree with, especially on the road they are talking about. It's a minor road but has room for 2 vehicles to pass so I don't see why they expect us to move over for them. I don't mind hopping off the road when I'm walking/jogging on a single track road, but that's as much for my own safety as for their convenience.

Absolute nonsense. I try to "own the lane" wherever possible.

Well another cold but sunny day here, washing done as the weathers suppose to change tomorrow. Overcast with some rain forecast. Knocked up a batch of bhuna masala yesterday so a trip to the shops planned to pick up some bits for a few curries.

Barnet,
Im back. Laptop, delivered safely. Now contemplating lunch.

My laptop has died. For some time now the battery would charge up and hold the charge, but as soon as I started to use it the charge went down within minutes.
It needs a new battery, but will have to go to a computer place as it is inaccessible.
Well, I hope it's the battery and not the laptop itself.

Some people are very "ME" based

I came across a few some years ago when my knee decided to stop co-operating
so I was walking with a stick - but could manage in Tesco with a trolley
but I was only OK on a strait line - corners involved stopping and turning carefully and in little bits

which revealed how many people I normally make way for

a few just moved down the aisle and assumed everyone would move out of the way in a timely manner
which I could not do but looked like a "normal bloke" (yes I know - I pretend)

and some of them damn near crashed into me even when I stopped and started turning - they just assumed I would get out of the way as they are entitled to priority

I reckon they all drive like that - and probably "certain makes of car"

Mine has done the same. It was old and the cost for a new battery wasnt worth it. So I make do with my phone and occasionally my pad.

Overcast start here, then a bit brighter and now overcast again.

Had coffee breakfast and watched the Raiders game this morning then in to town for shopping and thrifting.

Will get on Zwift this afternoon as it looks like it's going to rain most of the week although may be a couple of windows to get out.

Laptop batteries are normally easy to change

getting the plastic cover off the back is the problem and can involve removing bits that almost appear to have been designed specifically to his some important screw heads

but, as Dave said, the cost of the battery can make it not worth the cost
with mine I had to remove a non-slip strip which you cannot get replacements for

again - almost like they want you to give up and just get a new one!

I don't think any of us have mentioned the Highway Code, which we should. It's based on vulnerability:

Pedestrians
Cyclists
Horse riders
Motorcyclists
Cars/taxis
Vans/minibuses
Buses/HGVs etc

When cycling I always assert my right to be there but will yield when it's the safe responsible thing to do. Generally drivers appreciate this. I'm certainly not giving way for some d1ckhead who believes he/she owns the road.

Is there a 'cheapest' place to get a reliable battery ie one that's not going to set fire to the house ?
Mind you, i dont have a clue how to replace it.
