Good morning from a sunny and still Dorset. Granddaughter slept well in her own bedroom which meant that Mrs Tkk had a good night's sleep too. My first task after coffee and making breakfast is football in the garden followed by a trip to the playground 🤔. I forecast an active and tiring week ahead ( I can't even go downstairs without it developing into a " bumpy stairs " race )

UK drum show in that Liverpool so tram into Mcr and in theory train to Lime St but the weather gods may have other ideas. Scrambled eggs on a sesame seed bagel this am (courtesy of the bread stall in Todmorden) followed by a Pistachio brioche from Baked in Todmorden. How can a tiny town like this have 2 x artisan bakers plus 4 butchers?

It's the overspill and influence from Hebden Bridge which has long been a remarkable centre of counter-culture. Last time I was in Todd I was surprised by the number of interesting places that have opened up.

Ramsbottom is another place. Food heaven. We've been visiting The Drop Off for 15+ years. Wonderful place. At the top of a bloody big hill mind. But if you're in Ramsbottom search out Loafi. Out of this world. Loafi ***

And no visit to Rammy is complete without The Rake.

interesting fact about Hebden Bridge. It's known as the UK lesbian capital. +/- 10% of the population identify as LGBTQ. There you go. Every day's a school day.

*** I tell you cycling with my little group is a grand tour of the finest cafes and bakeries Lancashire, Yorkshire as well, has to offer.

Morning all. Just getting up, well apart from getting up an hour ago to turn the gas fire on in the lounge. ( It takes me back to my dad doing the same thing when I was a very young kid, except then he was lighting the coal fire in the back room 😀) .
We are going to the sailing club today but neither Mrs exlaser or I are going to sail but we do have a couple of sailers with the skill and bravery that might want to give it a go.
But i suspect all we will do is have a coffee , chat about how strong the wind as and then go home . 😂😀

Have a good day folks and stay safe.

gas fire on in the lounge

Blimey, do people still have those? Last gas fire Ì had was a Cannon Ice Breaker in my terraced house in Northampton, must have been about 40 years ago!

Better nights sleep and woke to a windy morning that's still going despite it supposedly tailing off by now.

Had two coffees and breakfast and just finished the washing up while the BH did the hoovering.

Will get back on the utility Trek to finish off the mudguards I started to fit yesterday, been a bit of a pain and will probably have to swap out the mini-v's for normal v-brakes as they foul the mudguards.

If all goes well (or I get fed up ) I'll get on Zwift this afternoon, will then watch some NFL this evening probably with the first hot chocolate of the Autumn/Winter.

Still got one in the main lounge, its very useful for spring/autumn when you dont want the full CH on.
My small lounge has a 2 kw electric connector fire.

I don't have gas but I'm thinking of getting something electric to heat the front room. I'm less fussy about temperature than Mrs P. When I start to fly solo again I may only want to heat the front room. I'll use the multi fuel stove to provide background heat for the rest of the house. Our energy bill is mind-blowing. It's an economy waiting to be made.

OK. Good morning. Windy. Boy we've had a visit from Boelo. I can't recall the last time a storm seemed to be coming straight at us. Rain started about 2.00pm yesterday getting increasingly heavy till midnight. All night we've had strong winds, not so much gusts, but constant strong winds.

Off to the gym shortly. A small Aldi run on the way home, farm shop for sausages and then home an afternoon of domestic admin. Loads of budgeting and cash flow to do.

Sausage, mash and real onion gravy for tea followed by film club at our neighbour's. Perfect end to the day.
