In case you dont know....electric fires are governed to a maximum 2.0 kw**. My previous one that died was 1.8 and this 2.0 makes a noticeable difference.
**the choice for them is quite limited.
I've mentioned before but when we had the flame effect gas hearth removed I purchased a electric flame effect stove from Screwfix for £70 just as a temporary measure to fit in the gap. Over a year later and it's still there. I noticed that it has two power levels 800w and 1600w. We put the flame effect on in the evenings with the heat side switched off at this time of year as it looks cosy and has a psychological warming effect. 🔥

My previous one was a cheapie from Aldi. Sounds similar to yours. I got a 2nd one (same model) for the conservatory and thats still going.

I was planning on getting something a bit more upmarket that fitted the space better but couldn't find anything that would fit without some faffing around. As we don't use the heating aspect I I wondered if I could find a suitable sized high definition TV and just have a flaming coals screensaver running on it 🤔. Ah well, there's always next year to sort it out 😁

The chimney also acted as an amplifier when the wind got up, or if a pigeon decided to perch on the top of the chimney cap going coo, coo, incessantly ☹️. When the hearth came out I stuffed a pillow case with loft insulation and wedged it up the chimney just above the fireplace opening. I also put a couple of pieces of electrical trunking as a path for ventilation.
