Morning all. A biiig sleep last night. In bed at 10, woke for a pee break at 7.30 then back to sleep till 7.30......best part of 9+ hours.
A chill day as all jobs are done. Have to divide my casserole into freezer portions.
A tv sports/footy day.

Has anyone watched This City is Ours series 2 on iplayer.....a good, gritty Liverpool gangland one. I really enjoyed it.

Make sure it’s consensual. Otherwise we’ll be reading about it elsewhere

The words "Drago", "Nigella", and "dreadful misunderstanding" feature prominently in this mornings Mail.

Did you ride the gondola from Kuranda down to the flat lands?
Not quite - the lower half was being refurbed (due to reopen in the next week or two, I believe), so it was only the Barron Falls loop from Kuranda. Still very cool, then we got the Scenic Railway back down the hill, where our relatives picked us up to drive back up 🤣

Always run your finger around the inside of the tyre before replacing the inner tube.

What I had missed was turning it inside out and bending it "backwards" to expose things that were nearly through but not enough to be obvious when the tyre is not under stress

I have done that before but just couldn;t be bothered yesterday
plus I need to go there anyway as I didn;t have suitable tube - the one I had been carrying round for ages had the "wrong" valve
so I needed a new one anyway
and the last couple of times I got one from Halfords it has split after a short time so I get them from the LBS where they are about teh same price but he always wants to fit it for me while I am there if I have the bike with me

Slept late as I binge watched the latest series of " Slow Horses " and didn't get to bed till gone midnight 😳.
Washing done and about to go out on the line, porridge eaten and yet to have my first coffee of the day.

I was on a ride through Cheshire once and it was hedge trimming time along the lanes. I kept in the middle but came across a group that hadn't. One guy had 9, that's NINE thorn punctures so was in trouble.

Well it's a bit more overcast today, but still. Man came about the solar panels, recons I can get 12 on a just about directly south facing roof and they should produce 4-5000KWh of electricity. The thing I found puzzling was they use the information on your last energy statement and for some inexplicable reason they've estimated my electric consumption at just over 600KWh annually whereas I've actually use just under 1500KWh in the year I've been with them, would love to know how they come up with that, I suspect it's some computer generated number because even the average primary school kid could add the numbers together and come up with the right answer, so he worked the savings out on that but also the 18p unit rate rather than the 30p it will be in a week or so. Anyway upshot is it should drastically reduce my energy bill over the year.
