Fixie ride to a bakery to purchase an artisan loaf. Headwind out and an 8% climb on the way back. 11 mile round trip.Saddle seems a bit better after some previous adjustment. Washing out and drying. Lunch eaten (garlic soup, some nice cheese).

Well, I won the raffle and I'm now doing my civic duty, so that will pretty much take up my day. Only the local sheriff court so nothing exciting. On the better side it should mean I won't arrive back of holiday to find a jury citation for the next 5 years and if I do I can ask to be excused.

Inside of the car has been mucked out. Not worth doing the outside as it'll be filthy again within a couple of miles round the country lanes hereabouts..

I pay for mine to be cleaned inside and out about every 8 weeks, I used to be mad about keeping my car clean, couldn't really care less these days, quite like a dirty car!

Met up yesterday with a group I was at school with

There were supposed to be 19 - but then when the date was confirmed some asid they couldn't make it
then some backed out
then the day before a few more backed out
so it ended up as 7
then one of the backer-outers came anyway so it was 8

very nice meal - no idea where it was for reason that will become obvious
nice wine and great company
lots of catching up and lots of names mentioned resulting in a "Oh My God I had forgotten about him" type reactions

lots of discussion about how a lot fo us had very clear and specific memories of things - which were totally different to those of others who were there at the time

very weird

Slight problem towards the end as the last bottle of wine we had had something wrong with it
we know that because were were all perfect;y sober while in the restaurant and then found were were totally "drunk" (other words are available) when we started going home or whatever
we agreed that the bloke organising it all would pay and send us his details so we could split it after - which has been done
ended up as £54 each - for a damn good meal and beer and wine
when I say wine I mean several beers and 4 bottles of wine - plus drinks ina pub beforehand

not bad for lunch!!

I'd been hiking in the Peak District so it had quite a bit of that in it.
That's it done until Santa comes down the chimney.. 👍

I am 64 and have never even been called for jury service, is this unusual? I have a friend who is a similar age and he has been called three times .
How do they choose who to call ? 😀
