I can hear the crackle of fireworks, and the sound of the rain hitting the windows of the extension. Mrs Tkk made curry and I accompanied mine with a bottle of Weston’s vintage organic cider. In other news the dishwasher will be going on overnight, we've been washing up by hand as it's just the two of us, but we've enough for a full load.

Evening all .
Not done a lot today, we went to Anglesey to see if we could see red squirrels and found some at newborough 😀. Had lunch at a very nice local cafe, then stopped at Bangor on the way home just to go on the pier .
It was a good day . 😀

Met up yesterday with a group I was at school with

There were supposed to be 19 - but then when the date was confirmed some asid they couldn't make it
then some backed out
then the day before a few more backed out
so it ended up as 7
then one of the backer-outers came anyway so it was 8

very nice meal - no idea where it was for reason that will become obvious
nice wine and great company
lots of catching up and lots of names mentioned resulting in a "Oh My God I had forgotten about him" type reactions

lots of discussion about how a lot fo us had very clear and specific memories of things - which were totally different to those of others who were there at the time

very weird

Slight problem towards the end as the last bottle of wine we had had something wrong with it
we know that because were were all perfect;y sober while in the restaurant and then found were were totally "drunk" (other words are available) when we started going home or whatever
we agreed that the bloke organising it all would pay and send us his details so we could split it after - which has been done
ended up as £54 each - for a damn good meal and beer and wine
when I say wine I mean several beers and 4 bottles of wine - plus drinks ina pub beforehand

not bad for lunch!!

I trust you were not driving

I am 64 and have never even been called for jury service, is this unusual? I have a friend who is a similar age and he has been called three times .
How do they choose who to call ? 😀

Allegedly it's a random draw, I'm not so sure I've been cited 4 times this year, the first 3 times I was either away in my motorhome or had a holiday booked so was excused. This time I got home from my latest motorhome trip to find the letter, although it was well past the acknowledgment deadline I phoned and explained. So now I'm allegedly excused for the next 5 years.

I was called once.

Mrs D was having a bad spell, and informed them Imwas her registered carer (which I am) and the court will need to be wheelchair accessible, a room set aside for Mrs D, and a nurse qualified to administer the necessary medications with her throughout the day. After a bit of to-and-fro with documents they removed me from the list.

Worked with someone who got Jury Service. He was originally from Guilford and his mother who was someone still lived there. She made a phone call apparently and just like that he was no longer required
