Will never forget on a holiday to Crete, walking down a road towards the beach and coming across a fairly large mound of tarmac in the road, where it had melted and run down the hill!!

32C here in Shrewsbury today on my way home from work! Hottest it's been so far this summer.

wimp !!! i'm just down the road from you and i went out for a 3 hour ride

Actually, in all seriousness, I watched the news last night and some health professionals are advising people to stay indoors, where at all possible, in the heat of the day.

We're forecast for another day of late 30s today but at the moment a bit of cloud seems to be moderating the heat.... it's 'only' 29C out there at the moment!

Cycling's one of the few activities you can enjoy in the heat. Try going for a ride, you'll be amazed at how much cooler you'll feel with the windchill.

To a point. I was cycling in 38 degree heat last month, and I can't say that was very enjoyable -it was cooler stopped in the shade.

That's the way to do it, imo. Get out whilst it's still cool... well, cool-ish!

It's a lovely time of day to be out too. One of the advantages of summer mornings is that it's light early. I can be out on my bike at 6am for a couple of hours, shower and breakfast on my return then settle down indoors before the heat of the day kicks in.

Mmmm.... 38°C  . We had several days like that last Summer. When riding home, I just unzipped my jersey fully, and let the air cool me down . Right now, it's 10°C inside, and I'm actually looking forward to next Summer.
